  1. 1 score game over 8mins left... how do you not play field position there.. Unbelievable gamble that makes no sense given the situation... Time and score...
  2. Just run the ball again 3 times... who cares about the penalty...
  3. That wasn't pass interference but I'll take it
  4. Both teams in my mind have some interesting things set up that could be huge shifters in momentum for the 2nd half... Rams Defense has set up some looks for picks in the 2nd half by sitting on those RPO's we're running. Baker didn't see it a few times. We of course can counter that by throwing out a RPO pass look on a slant but running a sluggo or slant and go to work the zone behind for big yards or a slice route from the opposite boundary that could go for big big chunk yards or to the house. Our offense also has a few things set up. We have a jet sweep or reverse set up well with the formation shift we did in the first half and how the Rams defense followed and man-matched. Best thing about Wilks' feast or famine style is we have a lot of counter calls we've setup for the next half. We have a lot of Corner or Safety pressures looks that could entice Goff to throw to a sinking back into a zone OLB. Will be great to see how the coaches take advantage and adapt.
  5. To think our depleted defense held the Rams to 3 points in the first half, but we'd be up by a field goal is an occurrence I didn't see coming...
  6. Wilks is nuts man... a corner blitz was on for that call with the slot open... lol..
  7. Chubb telegraphing pass with his splits ... someone has to point that out to him... he's standing parallel or in front of Baker on pass... but 1 step behind him on run
  8. Huge to stop them for 3 on that drive... amazing they get no point son that drive...
  9. Lol... literally the next play was a stretch run to Chubb... Ok... Freddie here we go...
  10. How about anything other than an a static 11-personnel look that has Baker take a few steps back and fire quick one to a Receiver draped by a defender that knows to sit on the route. At this point, I'll just take a stretch play run to Chubb.
  11. Maybe in past years, but Kirksey has been playing his best ball of his career this year before going down. Nice that Mack's looked good though.
  12. Great timeout by the Rams there.. we had the perfect call on...
  13. Hey remember when we would call plays that move the pocket and give our mobile QB an easy throw to get in rhythm... Nope.. we'll just trot him out slowly in shotgun in the same personnel grouping we always do..
  14. indeed, but that shift is a different type of shift not player shift. I meant formation shift and formation motion. We did that a ton last year. We hardly do it ever now.
  15. Smh... Once again.. Freddie with repetitive 11-personnel static formations ... no bunches that shift to what we really want.. no pre-snap movement or no one look to secondary shift.... just Baker back in shotgun having to guess what the defense is doing... we got no diagnostic information about how the Rams are going play us... we line up vanilla and do vanilla calls.. the rams don't show us a thing or a tell... We have to switch this up to help give Baker some tools to work off of after a series.. there's literally nothing to cue on when they look at the pictures... we don't do anything pre-snap to get a reaction out of the defense... we don't even vary our formations... it's starting to be a real concern about our playcalling.. I don't know where the Freddie Kitchens playcaller went from last year... it's odd.. No matter how good Baker is... we can't put it all on him.. just to line up and go.. give the guy a chance to diagnose and react with some good solutions...
  16. We have to commit to the run even if it's not working right away.
  17. This game is everything I've wanted the past 5 years. An opportunity to play above our heads against a tough opponent. We have critical injuries at critical positions. We've had adversity for weeks. Let's put a competitive team out there anyway. We finally have talent on the team and that's not core issue anymore. Buffalo and McDermot play above their heads all the time. It's time for us to do so. Just win... and if we don't win... Look good in the fight from start to finish.
  18. Hard to run with the most elite athletes running straight ahead at you with a pulled or small tears in your hamstring. It's not about toughness or being mentally weak. Muscles and bones are how we move. We could understand a CB being out with a broken foot b/c we'd say "they literally are unable to keep up." If you've ever pulled a hamstring, you literally can't run for long periods of time depending on the injury severity. It's more than just a pain tolerance issue. Also, it's week 3. We don't want Ward and Greedy completely tearing their hamstring, having surgery, being out for the year, and having serious injury concerns for the rest of their careers. It does really really suck that they are out tonight. I'm with you there. TJ Carrie is BBQ Chicken.
  19. Having to pay Ramsey versus others if we traded for him is a legit concern that can't just be dismissed. We can't have Ramsey AND Damarious Randall AND pay Schobert, JC Tretter, And get ready to Pay Larry O and others. I'd take Ramsey over Schobert and Randall because I think CB is more important and I don't believe in the longterm health of Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams. Will be interesting to see if we get in on the trade or not. I have no clue where Ramsey will end up.
  20. Go to past drafts over the last 5 years (http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?season=2018&round=round1#round1 ). Take a look at the players selected 25th to 32nd. Then look at the first 10 picks of the 2nd round players as well (likely where we'd end up in trade down scenarios). Assume that we'll draft better than most but still miss at times. What you'll see (even if you look at our selections of players like Corbett) far more often than not are players that aren't even close to what Jalen Ramsey is. Late 1st round picks in Theory are worth so much more than they are in reality. I don't see how trading two 1st (although it likely will cost less) sets this team back 5-6 years. It's possible that in those back to back years we take Offensive Lineman that come in as bookends for years to come. It's also possible that we take Austin Corbett as it's possible we take Nick Chubb or a Greedy Williams type. What I assume is that Dorsey is a great talent evaluator and just like other great evaluators he'll likely have 50% hit rate with 2 late 1st round picks at best. It's just hard for me to see that one players be anything close to a 22 year old arguably Best CB in the league that plays the run and has slot/safety versatility like Jalen Ramsey. Now, of course the potential is there to take 2 future starts and hit with both picks, but that's not playing the odds and overlooks real historical evidence. The best argument for not using 2, 1st rounders to me is in the scenario that we trade down and accumulate more draft capital with those picks. So, in essence we wouldn't be trading 2, 1st rounders, but we'd be giving up the opportunity to have a whole handful of valuable picks.
