sammymvpknight
I had him as my #4 TE in the draft, behind Howard, Engram, and Njoku. I was pretty confident that I was going to get him in my dynasty draft until Njoku fell all the way to my 2nd round pick. Bummer.

Christensen just gets held back for being something of a flash in the pan. His 4 year stretch from 83 to 86 might legitimately be the best by a TE in NFL history. But that's borderline all his career was. Two decent, but not great, years bookending that 4 year stretch. And then nothing else. He basically had a 6 year career as a starter, and a 4 year stretch where he was elite. It's like if Travis Kelce retired today, his career would look very similar to Todd Christensen. And that's great but not all-time great. And it's a shame. Dallas wanted to move him to TE when he was drafted. He was more of a receiving back than a runner coming out of college, too. But he didn't want to play TE. Bounced around the league until he caved and switched for the Raiders, and he was great very quickly after switching. Just waited too long to do so. Though, personally, I was always partial to Dave Casper, anyway, if we're talking old Raider TEs.
