Defense largely held its own in the first half then struggled to stop much of anything in the 2nd. When your secondary is this bad due to injuries and your pass rush is relying partially on an 8th string OLB, you're not going to win on talent very often, especially now that we're up against a mastermind like Payton. Asking any coordinator to constantly win on scheme alone and not get assistance from his talent is going to fail every single time, even if it's someone as smart as Pees. I agree with you theres only so much you can do but I feel like this defense was dominating that first half until the last couple minutes...but what happened...the offense had 2 scores and every drive after that took hardly any time off the clock.
