Week 2, Sept. 20: at Green Bay Packers, Lambeau Field, 1 p.m., Fox - L

Week 3, Sept. 27: at Arizona Cardinals, University of Phoenix Stadium, 4:25 p.m., Fox - W

Week 4, Oct. 4: vs. New Orleans Saints, Ford Field, 1 p.m., Fox - L

Week 5, Oct. 11: Bye week

Week 6, Oct. 18: at Jacksonville Jaguars, TIAA Bank Field, 1 p.m., Fox - W

Week 7, Oct. 25: at Atlanta Falcons, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, 1 p.m., Fox - L

Week 8, Nov. 1: vs. Indianapolis Colts, Ford Field, 1 p.m., CBS - W

Week 10, Nov. 15: vs. Washington, Ford Field, 1 p.m., Fox - W

Week 11, Nov. 22: at Carolina Panthers, Bank of America Stadium, 1 p.m., Fox - W

Week 12, Nov. 26: vs. Houston Texans, Thanksgiving Day, Ford Field, 12:30 p.m., CBS - W

Week 13, Dec. 6: at Chicago Bears, Solider Field, 1 p.m., Fox - W

Week 14, Dec. 13: vs. Green Bay Packers, Ford Field, 1 p.m., Fox - W

Week 15, Dec. 19 or Dec. 20: at Tennessee Titans, Nissan Stadium, TBD - L

Week 16, Dec. 26 or Dec. 27: vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Ford Field, TBD - W

Week 17, Jan. 3: vs. Minnesota Vikings, Ford Field, 1 p.m., Fox - L

Losses to Arizona, Indianapolis and/or Tampa Bay could bring this down to a 7-8 up to 9-7 record. This doesn't seem to be as difficult of a start on paper as last year but the result could be the same.

If we are 1-3 going into the bye, that Jacksonville game is make-or-break for Patricia and Quinn.

words cant describe how much i hate a week 5 bye( not just for the lions but overall)  all byes should be done between weeks 6-12(12 at the latest)

I had that EXACT thought process last night. It is far, far too early.

Two years in a row too.  And the year before that it was week 6.

As far as the schedule goes, it doesnt look overly difficult or overly easy.  Its hard to know which teams come out of nowhere and which sink back down the standings.  We know a few will be at the top again, but who knows if Houston figures it out or Aaron Rodgers or Matt Ryan falls off a cliff, or if Haskins turns into a stud QB.  Tampa could either be dominant or flame out with old man Brady running things.  I think every game on our schedule is winnable, but also feel all are lose-able as well.

Final record 6-10.  Due to losses on the last 3 games and a terrible start, I predict Patricia to be fired at the end of the season and BQ to stay. Why not fire both? Well, for one it would make too much sense to do so. Making sense and the Lions don't go hand in hand. Secondly, I think BQ has enough on MP to use him as a scapegoat.  Also, most GM's are allowed one firing.  I don't think they will hold Caldwell against BQ since he didn't hire him.

You could be right re: Patricia and Quinn. However, with the way that the roster is structured they would need to bring in a Patriots friendly coach, especially if they plan to keep Quinn.

Josh McDaniels could be the likely candidate assuming that he's no longer in line for HC at NE. However, it's not really the offense that has been our issue.

I think that's exactly what will happen. McDaniels that is.
