Ah i skipped the draft because i didn't want to sit through it.Β  Now i don't have the draft results.

I can tell you that the Pacers took Harry Byrd and he's a 73 OVR with A+ potential.

Lol Larry Byrd was GM of the Pacers during this timeframe.

A few updates from last night:

Players Options/Qualifying Offers

  • Took Team Option for Tracy King (5.08M)
  • Took Team Option for Scot Sheridan (1.74M)
  • Took Team Option for Peter Boyd (1.93M)
  • Qualifying offer extended to Chad Elliott (1 / 5.81M)
  • Qualifying offer extended to Leonard Gray (1 / 2.80M)

Free Agency

  • Offered deal to Chad Elliott 3 / 31.51M with 1 year Team Option (total 4 years) - DECLINED
  • Chad accepted a different deal (3 / 30.37 with 1 year Player Option) - Matched
  • Chad accepted another deal (3 / 30.75 with 1 year Player Option) - Matched
  • Matched deal to Leonard Gray (2 / 6.25M)

Training Camps

  • Vin Hill - Perimeter Defense (+6 Stl and On Ball D) - Now 82 OBD and 71 Stl, 78 OVR (+1)
  • Dale Burke - Perimeter Defense - Now 90 On Ball D and Stl

Hill i've decided to invest in, even with the B- potential.Β  It reminds me a lot of Burke, who had a B- potential coming out.Β  He's obviously far surprised that.Β  So i'm going to invest in him and hope he outperforms his initial potential rating.

Which means i'll have a decision to make next year with Tracy King.Β  He's developed into a nice player, but with a bunch of picks next year, and Hill looking promising, it might make sense to let him walk.Β  But that decision can be deferred until i have all the information, since the draft happens before FA.

Shouldn't Burke and McGuire be playing 40+ minutes a night?Β  They are by far your best players and in the prime of their careers.

Ya at least 36 min per game each during the regular season.Β Β

What i've noticed is that if i do that, they're dog tired at the end of the season and aren't putting up very good efficiency numbers.Β  In previous seasons i've scheduled them for 35/36 min and both A) they don't play those minutes and B) they put up worse numbers.

It's weird.
