We can build a roster around that stability 👍 This contract - moreso than just the ring - makes the whole LAL/NOLA trade work me. We needed to reup AD to make it work. We pissed off half the team when word of the first (potential) trade was leaked - killed a season. We traded that half of the team (plus a boatload of draft picks) to get AD - and supplemented the roster with a bunch of vet minimums to win a ring. Now - we're turning the roster over again - bringing in younger talent and fixing LBJ/AD as the building blocks. I dont follow the ins and outs of the NBA cap structures with all its regs and exceptions - but I think the road is clear now to build a roster than hangs around for awhile - and not just a bunch of 1 year deals followed by player options.
