Not a lot of changes from last year's roster, but my improvement should come from the progression of my young players.  The biggest change is Bembry being gone and Grace entering the starting lineup.  I have a pretty solid starting lineup now, with two star players surrounded by quality role players.  Davidson and Meeks are up for new contracts this year, and I'm assuming Davidson will be really expensive.  I'll have to see what Meeks contract demands are, his size is really awesome and he plays well in my user games, but his lack of rebounding in the sim games is really hurting my record season record I think.  Still, I'd have to land a stud Center prospect in an upcoming draft in order to consider replacing Meeks.

PF Donnie Carlisle progressed a ton from last year, so much so that he could give me another option in the starting lineup if Grace isn't working out.  I would just move CJ Ellis Jr. to SF and slide Carlisle into the starting lineup.  Actually I made consider this starting lineup in the playoffs against certain matchups as Ellis Jr. is a fantastic perimeter defender (even more so than Grace) and Carlisle is a great 3 point shooter for a PF.

My bench is looking pretty solid, my 2nd unit will likely be Morrison at PG, Troy Daniels at SG, Pederson at SF, Carlisle at PF and either PF Ed Hansen, C Dana Snyder or Colin McCarthy at Center.

haha ya I took a break for awhile after getting my butt kicked by the Magic.  Been playing the XCOM 2 expansion.

Yeah I enjoy reading your thread. How's the expansion? I play a TON of Xcom but mostly the Long War mods (LW2 for XCOM2), haven't touched it yet though since about a month before that DLC came out.

War of the Chosen?  It is fantastic.  You basically play through the same main storyline but the expansion throws a ton of new bosses and enemies at you.  Makes the difficulty much higher, and it adds things like fatigue and squadmate bonds into the fold.  I would highly recommend the expansion.

@RuskieTitan What do you think of my Year 6 roster?

Lot of youth and great potential. If they can gel together they should be able to make a strong push in the playoffs, especially since the Magic lost Jordan as a rounding machine. I also think your bench is stronger than it was in seasons past, so that should help as well. But if the young bucks keep progressing, your team is going to dominate.

Ya it would help too if I got a higher seed in the playoffs and wasn't stuck playing a top seed in the first round like I have been every year.  I lucked out getting to play a Cavs team last year that was missing Jimmy Butler due to injury.  I'll point out too that the game is more difficult this year than in year's past, both in simming the season and the user games.  I would have won the championship easily last year with that roster in 2k 17.

I think you made the right call with Grace. As for your center issues, you might want to give McCarthy some playing time, he might very well be your future at C. Anyway, loved the read

Thanks.  Ya I think I'll have McCarthy with around 10-14 min per game off the bench this year.  I think its pretty insane he was the 121st ranked prospect in the draft.

DE really slipped up icon_lol.gif

I wonder how often these simulated draft classes just slip in sleepers like McCarthy?

Idk, I usually don't scout anyone outside of the top 60, but maybe I need to alter my scouting habits.

edit - Also I'm glad I used a first round pick on him instead of trading down and taking him in the 2nd.  This way I have him on a 4-year rookie contract.

23 SG Bradley Beal Wizards 89 29
24 C Myles Turner Hornets 88 26
25 C Rudy Gobert Jazz 88 30

- Comparing this year's Top 25 to the first year I did this list (Year 3), there were 5 players higher than 95 OVR then, there are only 2 now.  Also, there were 21 players 90+ then, and its pretty comparable now with 20 players 90+ OVR.  Also, both had 16 players under the age of 30 on the list.

- There are 34 players between 85 OVR and Rudy Gobert.

- There are only a few teams with two 90+ OVR players, 76ers, Lakers, Warriors, and my Bulls.

Top 10 Prospects According to Draft Express - Year 6
DE Rank Position Name Age Height Weight Wingspan School Badges OVR Potential
1 SG Guy Hood 22 6'9" 232 7'4" Georgia Tech 12 81 A+
2 PG/SG Brian Washburn 20 6'6" 204 6'10" Indiana 8 74 A-
3 PG Steven Adkins 23 6'2" 192 6'9" Nebraska 6 72 B
4 SF Felipe Alvarado 20 6'8" 224 6'11" Puerto Rico 6 74 B-
5 PG Roderick Cunningham 23 6'1" 195 6'2" Syracuse 6 72 A-
6 SF/SG Otis Stafford 20 6'7" 197 6'10" Miami 5 73 B+
7 SF/PF Dmitri Kursov 22 6'9" 246 7'1" Russia 3 73 A+
8 SF Dion Stribling 24 6'7" 240 7'0" Duke 5 73 B-
9 PF Rodolph Peeler 22 6'11" 258 6'11" Central Florida 5 67 A+
10 PF Geoffrey Singletary 20 6'10" 248 6'11" Michigan 5 69 B+

So there isn't an instant Superstar in this class, and the OVRs are pretty lacking, but there is plenty of potential here.  7 out of the top 10 prospects have a B or higher athleticism rating.  So this top 10 is full of highly athletic raw players with loads of potential.  I'm really liking this draft class.
