*Major Injury*

PF Donnie Carlisle has torn his ACL.  Crap.

This one hurts.  Carlisle is the best shooting big I have on my bench.  I was even thinking of having him start some games in the playoffs.  A torn ACL could mean he might not even be ready by the beginning of next season too.

I’m currently 37-20, which is 4th in the East.  I’m only 2 games out of first place in the East, but SG Lamar Davidson just hurt his knee and is out 6-8 weeks so its going to be tough to gain ground.  Probably going to have to fight just to hold onto 4th.  I don’t really need to make any deals at the deadline this year but I want to get rid of Dana Snyder who is whining like crazy about not playing enough.

PF CJ Ellis Jr. was selected to the East All-Star team.

*TRADE*

Golden State Warriors Receive

C Dana Snyder (79)

2023 Celtics 2nd Round Pick

Chicago Bulls Receive

2026 Warriors 1st Round Pick (unprotected)

C Brandan Wright (73)

Snyder is whining about not having more minutes and honestly I don’t need him anymore with my rookie Center on the roster and Ed Hansen able to play Center at times.  The Warriors have been in decline and by 2026 may collapse.  Here’s hoping they do.  Brandan Wright will be cut.

I find it interesting that one Superstar player isn't enough to win anyone in 2k.  For instance, the Pelicans have 97 OVR Anthony Davis on their team, but the rest of their roster is crap.  In previous NBA 2k's they'd probably be in the playoffs with just him.  The Wizards have a stud 91 OVR rookie SG, and aging John Wall and Bradley Beal.  Not enough to win this year.

Summary

Well I completely destroyed the Pacers.  This was a game where I had everything hitting on all cylinders.  I shot a ridiculous 60% from the field and 58% from 3 point range.  Everyone was getting in on the 3s too it wasn’t just one guy.  Ellis Jr., Morrison, Davidson, Gornev, Grace and even Hansen all hit at least one 3.  Ellis led the way with 46 total points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals.  He really ran the show and the Pacers didn’t have anyone who could stop him.

I thought the Pacers would be a solid opponent but their star play Petrovic really did nothing in this game, Meeks completely shut him down.  I also destroyed them on the boards, and looking at their roster they should be a good rebounding team.  I’m just bigger, stronger and faster than them at every position.

He’s not listed on the stat sheet but SG Lamar Davidson had a really good game too with 14 points and 14 rebounds.  He’s just such a stud on defense too.  Speaking of good defense, starting PG Alexi Gornev had 6 steals in the game.  After being disappointed in him early one Gornev’s play has started to grow on me.  Morrison is also a lot better now and runs the offense on the 2nd unit well.

But lets talk about Rookie Center Colin McCarthy.  He absolutely destroyed their 2nd unit for 20 point and 6 rebounds.  He was 10 for 12 from the field and was pretty much unstoppable.  He’s the interior scorer I was looking for with my 2nd unit.  This series should be pretty easy for me to close out if I keep playing like this.

Summary

This game was an all out brawl, neither team could really make any shots.  It was completely different than Game 1 which was mostly outside shooting and finesse.  Their Center Mirko Petrovic really dominated the game and made his presence felt.  They just couldn’t hit any of their outside shots which ultimately lost them the game.  In fact, this game came down to the last second of the game, they had a chance to tie it up but they missed a jumper at the buzzer to tie it up.

The Pacers pretty much mauled my guys in this game.  They fouled me A LOT.  The problem is I missed a ton of free throws.  I HATE the way they changed shooting free throws in this year’s game.  If you haven’t played, there’s a little white bar that’s over the player’s left shoulder that shows you when to release your shot.  Well guess what, the Pacers have white letters on their court right behind the basket, so you can’t see the freaking white bar at their court!  Ridiculous!

I’m really lucky I survived this game and that none of my guys got hurt.  The Pacers were playing like they were embarrassed Game 1 and were just laying my guys out all game.  Anyways, I’m hoping the sim sweeps them so I can move on to the next round.
