Played well, but came up a fraction short. ~ Great recovery from Maro Itoje to secure Man of the Match. Villain of the first half to hero in the second. Special player. ~ Hopefully Exeter / England's Jack Nowell is not seriously injured? He was one of the best on ground before leaving the field due to injury late in the second half. Would hate to see him miss the World Cup. ***** And, finally... ~ Brilliant from Sarries. Small Town Values
(2019 - Rugby World Cup - News) World Cup fears for Jack Nowell after fullback appears on crutches: https://www.rugbypass.com/news/world-cup-fears-for-jack-nowell-after-fullback-appears-on-crutches/ Quote There are major concerns for the World Cup chances of Jack Nowell after the Exeter Chiefs fullback limped off the pitch after a heavy collision in the Gallagher Premiership Final at Twickenaham. Saracens won the Gallagher Premiership after beating Exeter 37-34 in the final at Twickenham, but the injury to the England star marred proceedings. Referee Wayne Barnes was quick bring the action to halt after the Nowell appeared to roll awkwardly on his leg in the 69th minute of the match, before being attended to by medics. The 26-year-old did manage to limp off unaided, though the extent of the injury is as yet unclear.

Small Town Values
2018/19 - HSBC - World Rugby - Sevens Series / Tokyo 2020 Olympics - Rugby Sevens - News: *** ** * Eight teams qualify for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games through HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series https://www.world.rugby/sevens-series/news/431008 Quote Eight teams have now qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games through the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series 2019 after securing a top-four finish in the men’s and women’s competitions. The HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series carried added significance this season as the principal route for qualification to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. In the men’s series, which culminated in the French capital Paris earlier this month, Fiji, USA, New Zealand and South Africa secured their places in Japan. The women’s series concludes in Biarritz, France, this weekend with New Zealand, USA, Canada and Australia having all secured a top-four spot in the standings to book their ticket to Tokyo. World Rugby Chairman Sir Bill Beaumont said: “Congratulations to the eight teams that have now qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games by securing a top-four spot on the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series 2019. “The standard of rugby played in this competition is exceptional and increases year-on-year, so to finish within the top four is an outstanding achievement. “We have seen unprecedented growth in this competition since its inception, and next season will be no different as the women’s series increases to eight rounds for the first time in its history. “2020 will be a big year for rugby sevens as it makes its second appearance on the Olympic Games programme in Tokyo, and we are very excited to watch these teams in action there next summer.” Edited June 18, 2019 by Marc MacGyver
