Maybe it’s because he was playing with the 3s, or maybe it’s because we want to bring him along slowly in a difficult system, but we only ran a few passing concepts. His processing time was about what was expected. A combination of not wanting to make a mistake, being nervous and not being too familiar with the receivers will do that. It’s easy to fix in practice and he’ll get there on gameday. He’s a long term project and probably doesn’t need to be ready this year anyway. QB3 is probably where they have him for this season. He hasn't had as many reps as he's needed. He's been QB4. And he hasn't earned moving up yet. Sounds like he's QB3 on the depth chart with the hopes Griff makes the practice squad. Also, there's been zero reason to get him ready to play this year. So we've been focusing on the basics, in terms of terminology and like footwork and stuff. But Gabbert and Griff both know the offense better right now. BA is loyal. To a fault. He'll stick with his experienced guys over the rookie unless the rookie really stands out.
