Pete's Quasi-Realistic Dream Offseason

On the Eve of the offseason really starting, here is my semi-predictive dream offseason for the Eagles.

TRADES

Eagles trade OT Andre Dillard to the Bengals for a 2022 3rd Round pick

Eagles trade QB Gardner Minshew to the Colts fora 2023 4th that could turn into a 3rd based on playing time.

FREE AGENCY (I'm not going to do numbers because I'm not good on guessing that)

I think the Eagles will go after 3 positions aggressively in FA. Safety, Rush LB/DE and WR

THE BIG FISH.

With more cap room and rumors of Howie wanting to make a splash this free agency, I think Howie opens up the checkbook and does what it takes to land the 25 year old safety. The Eagles have been connected to Williams in the post combine rumor mill.

THE MEDIUM FISH

USATSI_17517680.jpg?w=1000&h=600&crop=1

The Eagles were a rumored possible destination for JuJu last season but they had no cap room. With more space this year, the Eagles are once again very heavily rumored as a destination for JuJu. I think it happens this year. JuJu isn't the number 1 but doesn't have to be. I really like him as a the compliment to Devonta and Watkins and gives Hurts a 25 year old (!) veteran WR to stabilize the WR corps a bit.

THE UNDERRATED FISH

Uchenna Nwosu LB/EDGE

la-photos-1staff-468185-sp-1006-chargers

The Eagles have been linked to Nwosu and other LB/DE hybrids.

A former 2nd round pick Nwosu has the age and decent production that should make him a good contributor and not overly priced for a part time player as the SAM Rush LB in this defense probably will be.

THE BACKUP FISH

usatsi_13850912.jpg?w=1000&h=600&crop=1

Jacoby Brissett QB

Gardner gets traded in this mock so the Eagles aren't going to be barren at Backup QB. Brissett's familiarity with Sirianni makes him a good candidate.

THE DRAFT. I used a TDN Mock Draft Simulator to project who the Eagles take.

TRADE: The Eagles trade the Bengals 3rd round pick they get from the projected Dillard trade to the Ravens and pick 16 for pick 14.

The Eagles hop up to ensure my two top prospects on the board that represent significant tier breaks at their two biggest needs. The Ravens take the extra 3rd and take Jordan Davis at 16.

1.14- David Ojabo DE Michigan

Trading up for a Michigan pass rusher worked before.......

But seriously, Jermaine Johnson went off the board at 13, I think Ojabo is the last of the mid first round pass rushing prospects.

1.15- Andrew Booth Jr CB Clemson

That extra 3rd I give up ensures the Eagles end up with both Booth and Ojabo. I would imagine that the Ravens would be happy with any of Booth, Ojabo and Davis so they take the deal. Booth is the idea pick here as an outside CB.

1.19- Treylon Burks WR Arkansas

Burks compliments what Smith, JuJu and Quez bring to the table. Really give Hurts weapons to see once and for all if he is really the guy.

2.51- Lewis Cine S Georgia

Slay, Booth, Maddox, Marcus Williams, Cine

I feel sexy all over.

3.83 Troy Andersen LB Montana St

I go for the upside and athletic freak at the MLB position that can split time with Edwards and help give the Eagles an actual NFL LB's corps.

4.123- Jelani Woods TE Virginia

The Eagles upgrade significantly at the TE 2 position

5.153- Dohovan West IOL Arizona St

The C/G versatility gives another piece to help with 2023 life after Kelce

5.161- Thomas Booker DT Stanford

A rock solid DT that can help give depth whether Cox is on this team or not

5.165- Pierre Strong Jr RB South Dakota St.

Miles Sanders is on the last year of his deal. I have no idea what his future holds, but Strong might be a late round gem at RB. I think year one, he can fill in at Jordan Howard's role.

6.193 Alex Wright DE UAB

In a deep EDGE class, I expect to use a late round pick for an upside swing at DE

6.204 Micah McFadden LB Indiana

another LB can't hurt that room

POST DRAFT FA

Michael Palardy P- we need a punter

Richie James WR- Depth and a Returner

Projected Roster

QB- Hurts/Brissett

RB- Sanders/Gainwell/Strong

TE- Goedart/Woods/Stoll

WR- Devonta Smith/James

WR- Burks/Watkins

I'm game. Rather Hurts have at his disposal

Smitty, JuJu, Burks, Watkins

Then

Smitty, Reagor, Watkins, JJAW

As his top 4 WR's. At least then we can see if any improvement from last year to this can actually occur.

Last years options after Smitty were a joke.

I’m choosing to read this sincerely so thanks lol

I actually would really like this offseason. The board is higher on Burks than I am(I’d rather trade back to later in the first for him), but I would have zero issue with any of this.

I’m not super high on Burks but he is WR 2 for me behind Wilson. I am not a Drake London guy. Maybe it’s just JJAW PTSD
