Pierce never logged more than 120 carries in college (106 is his career high). So, while he’s got virtually no sort of wear, he's also never had to shoulder the load. Expecting him to suddenly log 250+ carries over 17 games is a task, and one that would have lasting negative effects on his career. RB is such a physical position that’s prone to wearing down a lot - while Pierce is an athletic freak of nature at his size, it’s still prudent to manage his load. Hopefully Metchie is able to come back at 100% but we will still need another WR, I doubt cooks stays too long. Nico has loads of potential but he’s got to reach it.
