2022 GDT Week Five Da 1-3 Steelers Visit the 3-1 Bills

I think coaching is absolutely holding the team back. I think it's mostly on the offensive side. I could really see the ship getting turned around with a capable O coordinator. I'm still firmly on the Tomlin bandwagon. I think he's one of the best Head Coaches in the league. I think he's built a very good defense. I think our offensive woes are so bad they hurt the defense. That's kind of been our MO for awhile now. Offenses that can't sustain drives, which leaves our defense out to dry. I really think, with another good offseason, and a NFL quality OC, we're SB contenders. I've been really impressed with Kenny. He's a gamer. I think he'll be talked about with Joe Burrow soon enough.

Something else I noticed in yesterday's game, but it really seems like the O-line has Kenny's back. I remember there were a few times last year Ben would get blasted and the line would just walk away, mainly Chuks if I'm being honest. It was nice to see Chuks get in and get nasty after the Bills shots on Kenny.

I’m right here with you on all of this.  This game aside (Likely MVP, a most improved candidate, and a top 5 WR) they’ve done what they needed defensively.  But in real time when you are on the field every 5 minutes its hard.

It’s annoying that we went from an explosive offense to a implosive offense, but we never had a offense in the middle that could sustain drives.  Heck I noticed last week at times we were still snapping with 0:10-0:05 on the playclock after leaving the huddle with much more than that.

I would love to find an offense that can be sorta Eagles like.  They can slow down when they need to, be quick striking when they need to.  We’re too all in one way or the other.  Heck I’ll throw and Eagles name out there for you: Jeff Stoutland.  OL/Run game coordinator.  Keep Mike Sullivan as the OC, and get Stoutland to be the OC.  Ryan Cordell of the Vikings would be another interesting guy where he’s the pass game specialist, and was the assistant OL coach for the Browns until this year.

Daniels wasn’t even helping Trubisky earlier this year either.

I think the team was fully behind Kenny from pretty early on.

Such a stark contrast to when Ben came in and Faneca said he wished there was a vet.  Pickens and Claypool looked excited to have Pickett in there.  I think DJ and Dan Moore (playing body language police) were the only ones not that excited.

Also did you catch DJ’s comments post game.  He (paraphrasing) said no excuses but the wind makes it hard to catch the ball.  Last week he blamed a tipped pass that hit him in the hands, this week he’s blaming wind battered pass that hit him in the hands.

I didn't see his comments, but his excuses aren't a shock. I'm pretty over Diontae after his play and actions this year. I said it about 20 pages back, but I hope we can dupe some idiot team into trading something useful for him.

I missed this, but man….

I got a feeling this alum vs locker room is going to get a lot uglier than better.

Cam Heyward retweeted this…. I’m gonna go watch Will Anderson highlights.

I don’t think he was looking at the Tomlin part. More the running to make tackles no one else would.

But Cam sure as heck wasn’t helping the situation. I love Cam but we need a get in your face, scream at you, throw stuff around, kick your *** captain right now.

Trade down even if you like Stroud or Young.  You would be in the same place if you do that as we are right now.  Move down with a team with 2 1sts this year like Seattle, and get their 1st next year too.  Put a bunch around Kenny and put it on his shoulders.  If he fails, you have the draft capital to move up to get another QB.  If he succeeds you put the tools around him.

Do you feel Seattle will go for that?  That's entirely too much to give up for Seattle's side.

after being demolished, lets see what tomlin and the staff decide to do to improve moving forward. This could have been what was required for them to make changes. Are we still hearing "we need to execute" as the mantra 😇

Allen really schooled the defence, so naturally I am expecting some adjustments on defence somehow. Leal should be out there all the time,  that much even I know.  Warren too anyone? He should at least get a chance or a few snaps here and there and not just 3rd  and 5+ either, let him get some early down snaps

- Move Pickens to WR1, get Austin on the field at the expense of DJ and Claypool. Feature Pat and Pickens in the passing game

- Minimum 50% carries for Warren, get him involved in the first quarter

- Give McFarland a hat over Snell or Najee

- Make Spillane inactive, give Mark Robinson some situational snaps

- Full time Leal, Malik Reed shouldn’t be on the field.

- Get Loudermilk some snaps over Wormley

- Fire Canada, promote Sullivan

All are things I hope Tomlin is at least considering moving forward.
