Took about 1 1/2 quarters today but ... Stick the fork in this one after that fumble

LaFleur and his game plans is a joke.  Abandon the run and go with this ridiculous bad passing game.  AWFUL

Take that you mental midget.

He was literally nowhere near Tom Brady.  Nowhere.

Favre had the 2nd most MVP votes in 2007.

Stop playing dumb.

The point remains: A GM who had an MVP-type QB, and was VERY much in his right mind, moved on from him.

This is literally the exact argument and situation people point to when demonstrating it sure as hell can be a great idea to move on from a QB with those credentials. This is not controversial, and it'd be cooler if you can just admit you misspoke or that you were wrong.

I'm not sure how anyone can look at what Brady did and look at what Favre did, and say they were close.

They weren’t. Only Brady was even deserving of it that year. It was a bad year for MVP candidates.  But Favre would’ve been my 2nd choice.

He retired. Favre initiated the entire process of moving on from him. If Rodgers starts next offseason by retiring, Love is our guy no matter what.

Because Frank Cooney stupidly tried to punish Tom Brady doesn't justify your argument.

You can take your own advice and admit you are wrong now. You won’t, because that’s the kind of guy you are.

actions speak louder than words

did TT trade Favre or not? What reality are you living in??

listen, if you're going to be an absolutely literalist and maintain that your point is that a GM won't trade the LITERAL MVP, then, sure. But that's a super boring point. The interesting point is whether or not an MVP-caliber player (esp QB) would be traded.

And our own team has the most obvious example of that. People were literally saying that we traded away an MVP QB to go with Rodgers.

So, the interesting example is that Ted Thompson, very much in his right mind, traded away an aging MVP caliber QB to go with an unknown younger QB. So your point that "no GM in their right mind" would do that is just categorically incorrect.

That is the point.

*Edit - it is SO obvious that TT is the counter-example to this, that it sure seemed like you were taking a shot at him.

Saying Favre was an MVP-caliber player and you're citing a SINGLE vote for MVP in which the person doing the voting was "punishing" Brady is an awful argument.  Favre was playing NOWHERE near the level Rodgers was playing, yet you're implying they were.

He retired. As in—quit. He had a contract. But he told his boss he wouldn’t be at work anymore. His boss replaced him. Then he wanted his job back. But their wasn’t a position for him. What reality do YOU live in?

Yikes man.

Did TT trade Favre and keep Rodgers, yes or no?
