Louis Friend
Lions claim Dwight Freeney after being waived by the Seattle Seahawks. Freeney recorded 3 sacks in 4 games for Seattle. Dwight Freeney: Quote Completely confused to be in this situation but excited for the future. Quote Can’t wait to unite with my former head coach Jim Caldwell and play for the @Lions!! #reunion #letsgetit
honolulu2786
I know there's like no chance of this happening but has anyone heard if they are gonna throw him on the field tomorrow and just tell him to get to the QB???

Speculation is they will hold him out and give him the 10 days to prepare for the next game. But I would love it. No game plan, just go get after the QB. Superduperman
There's not a reason in the world, assuming he can get to the stadium in time and they can have a uni ready for him, that the Lions shouldn't dress him and give him like 6-12 snaps on passing downs to just get the QB. Give the Vikings something to think about at the very least.
BarryTheBest
I agree with most here in that giving him limited snaps in situations where the DE is rushing the qb anyway is a no brainier. He also has so much experience in the NFL that he could key his reads if the Vikings decide to audible to a run and he would still be effective IMO or at least hold his own. I say play him. SimbaWho
I think this is a good move. It can provide a bit of pop for the Lions pass rush on obvious rush downs. I wanted this move for a long time. Kind of cool to see it happen. I don't think he's an every down or rotational down DE, at this point he's purely a 3rd down/ pass rush specialist. Not sure he's a GAME CHANGER but I do think he'll make the defense better.
