On his first 40-yard dash attempt today at the Scouting Combine, Turner was unofficially timed at 4.27 seconds. That makes him the fastest player so far at this year’s Combine, and one of the fastest ever. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/03/03/michigan-cornerback-dj-turner-runs-blazing-fast-40-yard-dash/ who have been the super fast 40 athletes at previous Combines /Pro Days who then went on to have a sub par pro career? not Randy. not Deion. I'm more interested in a guy that has shown he can cover.....maybe he should be a WR or punt returner? I have no interest in drafting a WR before the last round. the only downside is other teams aren't using their picks on WRs....
vike daddy
BYU offensive tackle Blake Freeland made Scouting Combine history. Freeland had a 37-inch vertical jump, which was the best ever for an offensive lineman. At 6-foot-8 and 302 pounds, Freeland is an impressive physical specimen who may have some room to gain some weight in the NFL. Freeland was a four-year starter at BYU and a third-team Associated Press All-American in 2022. He’s a good all-around athlete who was an All-State basketball player in Utah and the state record holder for high schoolers in the javelin. He’s going to be an intriguing prospect for plenty of NFL teams. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/03/06/byus-blake-freeland-had-37-inch-vertical-combine-record-for-offensive-linemen/
vike daddy
— Pass rusher Nolan Smith (21st) scored in the 99th percentile by Cole’s metrics, running a preposterous 4.39 40-yard dash at 238 pounds. With Brian Flores’s base in the 3-4, OLB types are worth paying attention. — Adetomiwa Adebawore (40th) from Northwestern ran sub-4.5 at 282 pounds. Maybe he doesn’t profile as a Flores fit but he did rank third of all DEs. — Pittsburgh DT Calijah Kancey (13th) only ran the 40-yard dash in Indy but blazed a 4.67 mark at 281 pounds. https://www.si.com/fannation/bringmethesports/vikings/20-vikings-related-takeaways-from-the-nfl-combine
