I love looking up random prospects when digging for gems for dynasty fantasy leagues. Found a dude for the Pirates with a comical line in 2 seasons in the DSL. Ewry Espinal.

He's had 350 plate appearances. He's struck out 121 times and walked 90 times. 211 of 350 PAs ended without contact. 60% of his PAs. Just unreal. Last year he had 61 K and 60 BB in 200 PA.

I've recently started going after Bowman 1st Autographed cards and have been researching some of the IFA guys I had never heard of.  Some absolutely bonkers stats down there.

No chance he supplants Crews right? I know the Pirates want a front line starter but Crews is still hitting .457/.607/.790 after 48 games prior to tonight. That'll drop a bit after an 0-4 night tonight but still...

I still don't think so.  So much less risk going with a hitter.

Skenes is nuts. Its too bad they dont let him hit too.  He could be the next Ohtani if his numbers from last year carried over at all. I doubt he jumps Crews but it also wouldn't shock me if he does.

Kid is going to be unhittable if he gets his command in order.

EDIT - His command has actually been way better than I thought but it still needs work. Up to 41 K in 22.2 IP with 9 BB.

Might need to wait until next week to change my work schedule. That Friday slate is going to be fun.

How fantastic would it be if Tulane upset the LSU juggernaut in the first round? The same Tulane team that had a regular season record of 19-40 but obviously saved their best baseball for their conference tourney to win and get in.

I'm just highly intrigued because this is finally a regional that I think Wright State can come out of. Iowa has to be the favorite because they can friggin' pitch but if WSU can get a W tomorrow over Indiana State, they've finally got a chance to win a regional. This isn't the team that I thought would get it done and they still likely don't but some bull**** placement in past regionals kept better teams from having a legit shot at Supers (that team a few years ago had no business getting put in Tennessee's regional), but there's no dominant team in this one so they've got as good a shot as a 4 seed can expect. And Kyle Peterson put it bluntly on the selection show, Wright State is a "nightmare 4 seed" for Indiana State.

MLB Pipeline Mock draft from Jim Callis.  Man, this draft hurts as the Reds lost 100 games last year and still pick 7th.  I wouldn't hate Lowder for the Reds, but i'd be tempted to take a swing at the higher upside with Dollander.  Callis is usually pretty plugged in to where the Reds are looking, so I expect their pick to be one of the names he has listed for them, which does include Dollander as well.

Can Shaw play 3rd? If he can play 3rd, I'd love that pick. He's got a nice power/speed profile and we need a 3B desperately. Eric Brown Jr is our SSotf and Shaw's profile plays up at 3B better than Turang or Black's.
