to be fair:

What connections does a guy like Ben Johnson have? Worked under Adam Gase, the same guy you criticized AP brought in to mentor him before the Vikings game?

I never criticized them bringing in Gase. And he was there due to his connection to Hardegree. Could care less about him, Lewis or Coughlin being there.

Ben Johnson has an offensive staff he built out in Detroit. He's been with NFL organizations since 2012. He's got a decade of relationship building in the league and an offensive staff of guys of which several likely follow,

AP has been a LB coach for 1.5 years.

Do you see the difference?

He’s played on multiple teams under multiple coaches with multiple players im sure along the ways he’s made connections. He also has Kelly to help.

jmd was “seen” by some including you as a offensive guru esp for qbs with unlimited connections and look how that turned out

i wanna see how the year plays out esp vs kc.

Playing and coaching are two entirely different skills. Name one guy from APs playing career that is coaching and he could lean on?

I also don't think one person would say JMD had unlimited connections. That is ridiculous. His connection were all Patriot people.

I thought it's the responsibility of the HC to build the staff? So when Ben Johnson is building the offensive staff in Detroit, then AP "just" needs a veteran OC, who has those connections, right?
I don't even see the connection Johnson has to the rest of the Lions staff (except for Dan Campbell, who has hired him). So obviously you can build a staff without connections to the whole league.

Players become coaches sometimes also I wonder how long before the mannings get into coaching?

How many of the best coaches in the league are former NFL players and how many were interim coaches that got promoted in season and kept the job? Basically 0, seems like there's a reason for that bud.

Why do you think the Mannings would want that headache?

They’ve got a nice TV gig which will pay them very well (plus endorsements), for a fraction of the time/effort/work.
