COD: Modern Warfare III (2023)

Thoughts?

The campaign is apparently only 3 hours long and is getting review bombed.

The multiplayer seems like basically a big expansion pack to MWII. They confirmed the MWII guns will carry over to MWIII. Unless they rework the SBMM system, I'm not really interested.

The new Zombies format really appeals to me though. Basically combining DMZ and Zombies. That sort of PvE, open world extraction mode seems like it could be a great way to just chill. I loved the idea of DMZ but never wanted to deal with the PvP aspect, and getting all the zombies perks/weapons/etc. could be a lot of fun.

I bought this. Thank God steam has a 2 hour refund policy. There's no way this is worth $70. For $30, sure no problem. The rubberbanding/lag whatever that is in the servers, horrible spawn system, bugs. I went to Reddit and saw people having the same issue. Just a disaster of a game. Once they fix all that stuff, the MP portion of the game has good maps and the game should be solid.

So this has DMZ but with zombies? Is that really the only "new" feature?

How much new stuff has been in cod in the last 8 years? Not much. This game was never supposed to happen, if was developed very quickly. I'm enjoying it for what it is, but looking citesrd to next year's game a lot more

Agreed. And thanks, but I wasn't being sarcastic, just genuinely curious if Zombies in DMZ is a new feature and people's experience with it. I guess I can just check youtube haha.

Yes,overall it is a new experience. They just blended DMZ and zombies into one game mode and honestly I have had a blast with it. I just finished the story and they will be adding to it with every season. Also a great free skin for completing the zombies story.

But yes, watch some youtube to get a general sense of it.

Is the zombies story easy to complete for a solo noob? The easter eggs in old zombies games were always way too hard and complicated.

This is honestly the first year where I have played more zombies then MP as i'm usually not a fan of the wave based zombies. I've done all the missions and currently grinding out the camo challenges right now. B- as I don't expect everyone to enjoy the grind of it as much as I do but I really like the direction they are taking it and I think they can go even further to expand the fun.

Multiplayer is actually really good as well although I seem to have some weird net code issues with MP. Seems like I get shot ALOT more before I even see the person then any other COD to date. Me and my buddies do pretty good even without the issues and its a testament to how good it feels that I even still play it despite that issue. B+ Needs weapon balancing (ARs are far too strong, ADS too fast, and have very little recoil making pretty much every other type of gun worthless) and the net code issues get in the way but by far the best balance of movement and gunplay in any COD of the last 5 years.

The single player campaign is the worse thing I have ever experienced. I don't buy COD for the SP but I still play through it and generally have a pretty good time but I really struggled to even finish it. Just about the laziest piece of crap ever. F Really just bad all around. You play the campaign for the fun set pieces and there are none at all. Where is the Navy Seal missions going room to room with night vision taking out guys with hostages, the train or car missions, the missions where there is an army vs army with a ton of explosions in the background? None of what makes the COD campaign fun was included outside one very short and IMO crappy AC130 tack on. Just bad lazy cash grab so they could say it came with a campaign without actually having to put any effort into it.

I would say 90% of the zombies is doab;e solo, but there are a few missions that you really want/need more people. I think there is matchmaking for them though so it should be ok.

As far as I know, there isn't an easter egg, it is just a collection of challenges to do in 3 tiers, with each tier having a "story" mission at the end. Those are the things it is better to have a friend for.

Most of it is pretty easy albeit tedious to do by yourself. The exception is the two final missions of ACT 2 (Probably the hardest mission in zombies) and ACT 3 which you can do by yourself with the right preparation but its so much easier to do in a group. The only other mission you may need another player for is the "Shoot the attack helicopter" in the escort mission and "Kill the overlord" as mercenaries are overtuned to hell.

I would agree with this. The shoot down attack heli isnt too bad though, you can park the car back in the garage and get out and shoot it with your gun
