Tugboat Posted March 12 Share Posted March 12 Definitely the sort of guy you sign to a 1-year deal as a stogap/bridge to make sure you don't have to throw a rookie in there before they're ready. But not much more. I thought the Washingtons would get him re-signed to give a little leeway if Williams/Maye aren't ready. But i guess maybe they're just gonna roll with that awkward situation of Sam Howell as a young unproven QB with starting aspirations behind their rookie. Though there's also still plenty of time for further movement on that front i suppose. But this certainly tips toward the Patriots likely making a QB selection. Whether that's at 3 or with some sort of trade down or coming back up from somewhere else in the draft. Would think this probably puts them out on Fields, but i suppose in an extreme, it could just be a statement about the lack of durability he has, if they're even contemplating that option at all.
