Being a Titans fan, I hope it’s the Titans, but first time coaches are hard to quantify, and there’s not really enough evidence for them to be in the running on paper.

Hard for me to say anything other than the Bears. Keeping Eberflus was a mistake, but they got new coordinators, and adding Williams and Odunze is hard to overtake.

#1 LA Chargers. They finished 5-12 last season. I have them winning 11 games this season with their schedule and these improvements.

They lost Ackeler but I think upgraded the RB position with consistent Gus the bus (who admittedly is looking like he never fully got back after his ACL and has less burst and explosive, but still) and they brought in JK Dobbins who will probably get hurt but if he doesn’t and he can get back to what he was, is a top 15 caliber RB in the league IMO. I’m sure they were also able to attract tons of talented UDFA RBs or will be able to attract talented RBs to that room with Greg Roman as a coach. Same with OL.

Clearly the WR core is worse, but Mike Williams was always hurt, so really the loss was losing Keenan Allen and while I’m not as high on Ladd McConkey and while I see the durability concerns, if he can be healthy, he probably gives you a similar slot beast to what you had with Keenan Allen. Beyond that I think that squad had talent but underperformed because they gave up on their coach. So I think this is a squad that could be a dark horse candidate for the #1 seed in the AFC, not at 11 wins, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this squad gets to 13 wins and the #1 seed of the conference.

#2 Jets. They add back Rodgers. They juiced up the OL. Moses can still play. Add a guard in Simpson who was in the same OL room with Moses that’s solid who could be a solid starter or great backup. Add Tyron Smith who is elite when healthy at LT. Olu could probably convert to LG his first year and is your swing LT in the event that Smith goes down. They add Reddick and Kinlaw to that defense. I didn’t like the WR additions as much but Corley has an obvious role and can be an outlet for Rodgers and Williams is a big body option and a committed Rodgers is an MVP level regardless of what’s around him. They built him up a wall and Saleh has the defensive chops and talent on his unit to make this squad very competitive.

#3 Steelers. Offense with Arthur Smith and Russell Wilson (much better pairing than with Payton) should be much improved. OL should be improved. And the Steelers defense led by Watt and co with additions of Queen and Elliot to balance out a unit that already had Minkah Fitzpatrick at FS will be formidable.

#4 Titans. They add some very interesting offensive weapons that pair well and improve the OL. They add some defensive talent. But I’m unsure about the coaches and that will be a big part of whether they see improvements or stay mediocre. Also losing Henry’s leadership I think could be something that goes overlooked as well.

#5 Eagles. There’s stuff I liked and didn’t like. They lost Kelce and added Kellen Moore, but added OL pieces too, but for me it’s a wait and see on that front. But Fangio plus the corner additions should immediately improve that defense and pairs well with what should be growth from their young front 7 players. That alone I see as enough to improve the team overall.
