I didn’t look, but does he explain in the comments how that pass is supposed to be a high difficulty play in his eyes?

I don't know.  Just scrolling through my feed and thought it was funny.

Araiza sure is hammering the ball in KC. I like Taylor but sucks using a fourth round pick when we could have had basically the same player as a free agent

Taylor is a weapon because he's got a huge leg and is a wizard with coffin corners and within the 10 yard line

Araiza has a cannon but isn't as good at touch and placement. Araiza (wrongly so) had the SA accusation and it's easier for an established team like b2b champ KC to sneak him on the team without as much uproar than it would have been for us

Araiza has a huge leg but wasn’t even the top punter in his draft class. Taylor is arguably the most accomplished college punter in the last 30 years and doesn’t come with any of the baggage (fair or not). We could’ve signed Tommy Townsend as a FA too (a 2022 pro bowler who Poles was involved in drafting while in KC) without investing the draft capital, and chose not to do that either. They clearly targeted Taylor all along to replace Gill.

If you’re spending a mid round pick on a specialist he’d better be special at it, but from all indications thus far Taylor is just that.

it was said when he was drafted too, but day 3 picks are such lottery tickets, and a majority of them dont pay out. I have no problem with drafting a guy that's seen as the best at his position in the last 10 years rather than another iOL/dL/DB that's going to be on the cusp of making the roster

(but for the record, i wanted to draft booker in the 3rd, so i'm not classifying him in my mind as a day 3)

Freeze this video at :08 and at :54-57 you can see it better when he replays it.

This is point where Fields bails on pass concept and is looking to run. You can see it in his head movement.  Fields should be past this by now.  He does this so often against Zone. As QB School correctly points out, the mesh or crossing concept hasn't even happened yet and Fields is out.

This is why trading 1 this year and building around Fields with Harrison Jr. and whoever would not have worked.   If we had Jerry Rice, Randy Moss and Calvin Johnson in this pattern what does it matter?  It would mostly just be better players watching Fields run around and bail on the play.

Unless a team plays man and makes it easy for him.  I don't know if he is going to get it.  He hasn't yet.  Which is why I was out last year despite his immense talent.

$26 million more than D.J...🤣

It still bothers me that we root for cheapest contracts.   That doesn’t seem right.

The NFL artificially suppresses their labor market and gets public support for it because a) the money is still huge but more b) they see paying below market deals as competitive advantage for their favorite team (which it often is).

I don't think it's so much rooting for cheaper contracts...it's paying a fair price for guys that allows you to then spend that money on other guys...I guess I just look at what Brady did in NE all those years where he took well under market value to help pay other guys...not enough of that out there IMO (that said after seeing CeeDee's tax bill for the year I can at least understand it)
