Putting aside the difference in schedule, interim coaches always get an emotional boost. Players like playing for a positional coach, especially when they hated the HC they were playing for. That emotional run is long over, it's a new season. A new grind. While Graham's defense should be solid, the team will go only as far as it can take them. On the other side, you have a career backup starting at QB and Luke Getsy who couldn't build an offense in Chicago over two seasons. Fields aside, his offense was messy. It was hit or miss, it had issues with spacing and doing anything consistently. The Raiders have the 9th hardest SOS entering the season and the Vegas odds have them at 6.5. The only way this team is winning 9 games is if Getsy somehow surprises everyone with his offense and shows it was in fact a Fields problem in Chicago. We don’t know if the game has passed up Harbaugh and Sean Payton.

Payton rode a trash team to am 8-9 record and his team's best season since 2016. Harbaugh just won a national championship and walks into a far better situation than the first time around, and plays a timeless brand of football. We can absolutely safely say the game hasn't passed either of them by. Certainly not in any manner that benefits the Raiders as a division opponent.

Winning a championship in college football means nothing on the NFL level You don’t know if his message works on pro players anymore what has Sean Payton done and recent memory that should make you worry about him? College to pro coaches have failed miserably in recent years. Remains to be seen if Harbaugh brand of football works this time around Payton? Don’t get me started. He hasn’t done much since Brees has retired

His brand of football always works. Great Olines, run the ball and play off that. And he has Justin Herbert as his QB. Payton just equaled the Raiders record with the corpse of Russell Wilson and little to no talent on his squad. He did more with less than AP had. Both the Chargers and Broncos are a year or 2 away, but both run circles around AP in coaching. AP might be able to out talent them this season, but that won't last long.

You guys got spoiled with Belichek and Reid who had an extended run of winning thanks to Generational QBs they latched on to. Harbaugh/Payton just like Belichek and countless legendary coaches methods will get passed up and they lose out of the NFL. Glazing the rival coaches like this is 2010

Anyone claiming AP gets multiple years when he barely got the job is laughable. This is a one year prove it deal with a stacked defensive and offensive roster. It was AP’s choice to get Minshew and not trade up in the draft, not sign Kirk Cousins, etc.
