Which is absolutely stupid & far to common in the NFL as well? I now hope USC upsets LSU because of that stupidity. Kick the FG in those situations you idiot.(Kelly) I understand there are circumstances to go for it on 4th down. I'm not opposed to being aggressive, in certain situations. But when you have a big fat goose egg on the board? Take the pts. (Specially, that early in the game) Momentum is such an underrated factor in football. aceinthehouse Posted September 2 Share Posted September 2 I've noticed the officiating in this game has been pretty good. All these close calls I've felt, have been reviewed & decided correctly. There's not been 1 call, where I thought they got wrong, or controversial. Is this the norm, or rare? I don't watch a lot of college ball, so I'm sincerely asking. And if so? Why can't the NFL be this good, or consistent? It seems like every NFL game I watch, there's some controversial call. I don't know.... I guess, I'm just pointing out that it's nice to watch a game & feel that there's not 1 team getting calls that hugely benefit one team or the other with questionable officiating. LSU ball at the 2 minute warning. Inside the red zone. .... Instead...it's 20-17 USC, with LSU ball inside red zone, with a chance to tie or get a FG. You don't just leave pts off the board when you fail, but you change the momentum of the game. Not taking anything away from USC, because they tough & smart. And they're a good hoot all team. But Coach Brian Kelly lost that game, imo. All because he didn't take the FG, to go up 3-0 early in the 1st QTR. Maybe you can get away that vs Chattanooga? But not a major ranked opponent.
