How big is the gap between Andy Reid and other HC’s right now?

This is entering into “The Onion” territory my man.

No kidding. The fact that Phil managed to pull possibly the last three peat in nba history while their was a full fledged civil war between the best 2 players shows his greatness.

Not sure there's any legit case for shanny over mcvay

They're 2nd & 3rd IMO, SB win is the tiebreaker for McVay. But that itself doesn't always mean 100%; I'd take Shanny over Harbaugh, Tomlin, Pederson, McCarthy & Payton who are SB winning HC's

Winning in this league (at least the modern NFL) revolves almost entirely around having a QB. How many HCs have great records without a quality starting QB?

Shanahan’s probably the closest, but I don’t think Jimmy was a below average QB for most of his career. Just an average one.

Phil never built a championship roster. He inherited rosters that were already on the verge of greatness. Larry Brown and Rick Carlisle both proved more in their one championship than Jackson proved in all 11 of his. Hell, Tomajanovich proved more; no second option in the first ring, the No. 6 seed in the second.

Those rosters were on the verge of greatness, yet they never got close to that greatness before or after Phil Jackson was there. Hmm, odd.

Both had been in the Conference Finals before Phil became coach. Stop acting like he turned a 20-win team into an overnight contender. He didn't build anything.

Brady had 18 TD and 12 INT in the 2001 season and 1 TD and 1 INT in the post season that year. Belichick gets no credit for that championship?

Nope! The guy who oversees the entire roster and coaching staff doesn't win games, the guy who's only on the field for half the game at most while making up 1/53 of the roster does.

On a related note, Joe Burrow is a bottom 5 QB in the league right now because he's a loser. And Justin Fields is ELIte.

How many titles did Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Kobe Bryant, and Shaquille O'Neal win without Phil Jackson? Now how many did they win with him? End of discussion. You're also literally arguing that Belichick not succeeding without Brady makes him overrated. Wouldn't that make MJ and Kobe overrated for their 0 titles without Phil Jackson? Interesting.

Anyways the GOAT FB coach is actually Joe Gibbs. *mic drop*

Jackson only won rings with Jordan or a Jordan copycat. If anything, he was more dependent on them than they were on him.

Basically he's overrated for the similar reasons Phil Jackson is. Jackson came into good situations in both Chicago and LA and coached the two greatest guards in NBA history while also coaching the most unguardable center of all time

This is so stupid. Belichick micromanaged those teams, especially the defenses. If anything Parcells was more like Phil Jackson while Belichick was the Tex Winter.

Look at the Patriots teams that beat the Rams. Those were especially defense-first teams.

11 Rings with Jackson, 0 without for MJ and Kobe in nearly 20 combined seasons without him. Sure thing dude.
