  1. Derrick Henry needs 166 yards to pass Nick Chubb for the rushing title after Chubb's 41 yards today against the Bengals. Christian McCaffrey needed 134 yards today after Chubb's Bengals totals. McCaffrey got 26 yards. It's down to Chubb and Henry. It's realistically within Henry's reach though as he has 31 yards with 10 minutes left in the the second quarter and the Texans are playing a lot of their backups. It might not be probable or plausible but Henry's gone off for 130 yards or more in 3 quarters before. Let's hope Nick can hold onto the lead. He should've got the ball more in this game.
  2. That's future legend Dane Cruikshank to you pal.... his legend is being restrained and held back by all-pro Kevin Byard starting in his stead. If we traded for Dane, there's no draft pick cost that would be too much. He'd ascend to all-pro day 1. The prophecy foretold... ... don't you get it...
  3. By most measures, there was tremendously significant drop off in play quality against the run with Chad Thomas despite his occasional splash plays and to a lesser extent against the pass.... and I've been a Chad Thomas supporter since the draft. I get cap casualty very well, but why create additional holes when those players can easily serve as bridge players and come off the cap when we have the ability to upgrade the position in a year. You can't tell me Chad Thomas, Bryan Cox Jr, Porter Gustin, and some 4th round rookie (the DE class is nothingness) or Emmanuel Ogbah (check out the DE Free Agent class man.. it's a nothingness.. seriously) is better than having Vernon try to come back healthier. Guys in the locker room respect him as well. Our roster is our roster right now. Subtracting Vernon and Richardson doesn't improve us. Maybe we can trade for more depth and upgrade those positions. But this is truly scarce year in both the draft and Free Agency if you want a Defensive End or Defensive Tackle. I don't see a viable path via the draft (assuming we don't get Epenesa in the 1st or Okwara in the 2nd) for us to improve DE/DT without sacrificing using those picks on OLineman which is are most desperate need. So, if we can't get it through the draft and the players aren't available in Free Agency, that would mean that we return with our current roster unless we trade or pick up another cap casualty. Maybe there are alternatives that have yet to manifest because those players are still on teams.. but right now I don't see it.
  4. I'm done man... i promise.. no matter what's said... haha.. I'm hanging it up.... I don't care at this point... disgusting season of foolishness... ... people lash out at stuff and attribute blame where they see fit... it's a frustrating time.. people don't agree with me and I don't agree with them.. it is what it is... It turns out it wasn't nigh.... lol... No Amnesia-ing .. everyone is awake and pissed... Baker's is going to fix everything by himself this off-season... We're bringing back SASHI... you heard it here first... What a time to be alive...
  5. You only cut guys if you can upgrade them in off-season. As much as I'd like to upgrade over Olivier, we're not going to find a Defensive end in round 3 or later that can come in and be better than Vernon. Our 1st and 2nd round picks are going to go to more pressing needs along the Offensive line. The Free Agent class at DE and DT is abysmal unless we want a Jadaveon Clowney at DE or somehow the Chiefs give up on Chris Jones. Vernon already got his bonus money and now he just gets his base salary. Richardson was solid all year. We can't upgrade over him either as the DT class is even worse than the DE class. Keeping Vernon and Richardson are the best moves considering the scarcity at DE and DT in upcoming free agency and the draft. I wish it was otherwise but I'm it afraid it's likely not.
  6. I don't know how Freddie could make it after this one. Dorsey might get washed away in the Haslam's madness. Tomorrow should be an interesting one.
  7. hahah ... come on man... all game he put in good work. you see 1 play and that means he didn't play hard today? You ever played a game with a serious injury to your hip or lower body for over 50 snaps? If you play football injured you can only go so much. It's one route in question and the spacing was awful the earlier one. That last pass was uncatchable. His momentum was taking him the other way. He stopped to head the other way but he couldn't get to that. In real time turning to get that with the ball traveling at velocity he's not getting close to that.. The TV copy maybe distorts the proximity to some but everyone I'm watching the game with readily saw that ball as uncatchable. Robert Smith says "doesn't even try" then opinions fly off. I don't walk away from the game saying "man landry tried all year but those 2 plays i saw mean he didn't have effort today." He put it on the line the entire game injured needing surgery. I commend him and hope he returns healthy next year.
  8. The Good News is Baker knows exactly what the problems are and how to fix them without the help of successful off-season QB training experts.
  9. Unbelievable... I can't believe we actually lost to the Bengals on the last game of the season... my goodness..
  10. I often critique PFF data. It's not just PFF man that hold that opinion. Multiple other analytics and consensus scouting firms. But that's besides the point. Let's just agree to strongly disagree. I don't really care at this point. Think whatever you want man. Good times ahead..
  11. A win... now we need the Bengals to hold and our players to not get injured seriously....
  12. Fine ... you're not emotional... but your point about the oline has not been substantiated and you are holding onto that unsubstantiated opinion for other non-emotional reasons. That ignores all available consensus data we have about OLine play in the NFL 2019. I'm all for critiquing analytics or whether they accurately are representing the reality of play. I often do, but based on analytical data AND consensus traditional scouting data of the league, that is what the data says... It's not my personal belief... If you choose to ignore, maybe not emotional in the true sense what I was trying to say by "emotional" is that you have reasons that seem to be overriding being open to what consensus data says.
  13. You are based on the inferences you're making. Landry moving slow leading to others inferring that he quit or didn't give effort. We don't know that. What if he's gutting it out in the highest level of football possible and just couldnt go on that play -OR- Instead he had to slow the pace of his route because 3 route combos were in close area. The point is we don't know which is which or if it's even something else. So, why react as if we do know. OBJ walking off, the announcer making an inference and you and others doing so as well. The inference supports and confirms your prior belief. OBJ returned. In football when players are injured and run a hard route or run up the middle they come out for a play if not more especially if it was a 3rd down conversion. That's basic football; if you played (you probably did) that happens.
  14. Indeed, it has been trash a lot this season. Relative to the trash the rest of the league has, surprisingly the data suggest we've been average trash to slightly above average trash. It's like I said, if we're in a class where the average grade is a D+ that's a different quality than a class where the average grade is a B+. The league has an offensive line problem in general that seriously hurts 22-24 of 32 teams in varying degrees. The dominance and boost in quality of the other 7-10 OLine play is a substantial difference.
  15. I think I'm basing the opinion on evidence and not emotion. Analytics from 3 different analytics firms back up the claims that 1.) Offensive line play in the league is horrendous in general, 2.) Our OLine is no different, 3.) Amongst bad oline play when it comes to sack and pressure rates given up the Cleveland Browns are at least average and above average in other categories relative to the rest of the league. Beyond the analytics, watching one or a handful of teams and distort perspective on what is and isn't. Today, the OLine has been trash.
  16. According to what?? Can you prove it via the coaches film. The commentator and TV copy. You guys are fantastically reactionary. Coaches film does not verify your assertion although emotion and confirmation bias does.
  17. Did I say that we have a good pass blocking line? If we're in a class of 20 people, and 15 students have F grades and the rest have a D-, that doesn't mean we have a good grade. It's speak to the issues of quality performance of the class. Oline is an issue league-wide. If you watch other games, you'd realize that. In terms of sack rate, we're 12. In terms of pressure rate, we're 17th. That's above average. It's not just FO but also based on other analytics firms and scouting assessment.
  18. Can we not do revisionist history on the season so quick... Baker's numbers when the OLine is great are the worst in the league. Our OLine in terms of DVOA Pass Blocking and Overall Rating Efficiency is 12th. https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ol/2019 Most of the year we've been above average. I get putting it on Freddie. I can even get behind putting on the WRs and OLine mostly in general at times. But Baker deserves his main part in the issues. Freddie, Baker, then OL/WRs with the last two taking turns at different spots. Baker still can be really good. All is not lost. But this season he deserves the L.
  19. Jarvis Landry broke his sacrum and has played with a screwed up hip and back all season with effort blocking and running routes... One play where it looks like he can barely move well doesn't mean sh*t about his effort or whatever... The guy shouldn't even be playing... Those route combos ran right into the zones and had no spacing to begin with...
