The PGA looks so bad for this

They could have shown some balls and said the LIV would never be allowed at the major tournaments. Put the pressure on the networks to not show the LIV and slowly bleed them out.

If I recall correctly, doesn’t the Masters have say separate from the tour? Same with the Open? So at least half would be able to usurp their perceived authority, right?

That’s a really great question. Might have been what forced this decision.

The Masters is the most watched golf event every year and it’d be a huge blow to the PGA.

Found it:

“While LIV golfers are banned from the PGA Tour, the Masters, like the other majors, has opened the door to those who qualify.

Sprinkled among the Masters field are 18 members of the LIV Tour, many back at Augusta as former champions, which comes with a lifetime exemption.“

@candyman93 looks like a separate entity aside from the PGA determines the Open as well.

I can understand the Open kind of being it’s own thing.

But how in the hell do you let the Masters be it’s own thing?!?!

PGA screwed up not making that air tight.

This would be like the NCAA banning college teams during the regular season but having no say about the CFP or March Madness. LOL

The Masters is a private golf club. Remember when they paid the commercial rights out of pocket so no commercials would be shown or the protests about them not allowing women members? Deep pockets and tradition and they do what they want almost all the time.

Dumb turdball

If Ive learned anything from this, its that money is over everything. Its over family, its over morals, its over friends/employees/colleagues. Wealthy old men in positions of power would sell out their own children for a paycheck.

They handled this entire situation horribly and it goes far beyond the whole 'gotta get that bag!' nonsense 90% of these shortsighted people on social media are touting. Its about the Who not the What.

I hope that Tiger retires and focuses all of his wealth/power/pull for the game of golf into a PGA Tour v2 and watch this **** show run itself into the ground while he takes all of the high level players/friends with him.

Just wait until the Saudis want influence in basketball. Lebron will get offered a 500 mil contract at age 40.

They’ll never touch the NFL because it’s such a regional sport.

It’ll happen eventually. But they wont do it in Saudi Arabia. They don’t care enough about basketball.  No one watches their league. They’d have to make another league in America.
