Mid Iowa Posted November 5, 2018 Share Posted November 5, 2018 We've been talking a lot about Brees (of course), our marquee receiver, our running backs, and our front 7 of the defense. That's fine, and I love it! Let's give some well deserved love to the offensive line. The Rams defense is rated near the top of the NFL in virtually every category they (sports media) can dig up, yet last night, the Saints showed a different side of the coin. Brees was not sacked a single time in 36 pass attempts. Hill wasn't sacked either, but did take a tackle for a loss on a RPO that he kept. Kamara achieved 82 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs and only 1 TFL in 19 attempts. Keeping Brees clean against the Rams front 7 is what's going to get us deep into the playoffs, or even win a championship. We all know Brees will carve up a D if he gets time and stays clean, and we saw that in their victory over the 8-1 Rams, formerly known as the "unbeaten Rams". Who Dat!!! Jlowe22 Posted November 5, 2018 Share Posted November 5, 2018 Our o line completely dominated the game. It was amazing to watch really. Aaron Donald, DPOTY almost a non factor. Doesnt mean they will play that well next time we meet though. If they can't slow Donald down, we'll be in trouble. Hopefully our own pass rush will be at full strength though with Davenport back.
