Yes, despite all of the talent they have already amassed on that side of the ball, and despite their obvious issues on defense, they are sniffing around on trade options and some teams I spoke to wouldn't be shocked if they got in on Le'Veon Bell. We have drafted extensively for defense in the last two drafts. Now we have TK, Nnadi, Do'D, Speaks, Watts positioned to take on bigger roles. Simmons at the end of 2nd is pretty unrealistic but if we can get him there we should jump on the opportunity. KC also led the NFL in giving up 20+ yds pass plays (65 of 'em). That reflects poor safety play. IMO we need a CB, SS and FS. I don't care what order. It takes a truly exceptional player for a safety to be worth a top-five pick. Berry is everything every team wants in a player--great physical makeup, great skills, great instincts, great work ethic, great leadership--yet he still lasted four picks to us. You can do this again with Luke Kuechly. He lasted to pick #9. DE or Edge rushers with those attributes go #1. CB and WR go #2 or #3 because someone reaches for a QB. Yes, the Chiefs need help in the secondary, though perhaps less than you think. They can find help in free agents much more easily at S than at CB.
