Hard to limit it as scheme can cause needs to vary greatly (like a 3T in a Tampa 2 opposed to a 3-4 NT that two-gaps)

QB- accuracy, mental processing speed, QB face

HB - ball security, vision, one excellent trait to revolve around (speed, powerful runner, etc)

FB - either be too small to be an OL or too slow to be a HB but meet their prerequisites otherwise

WR - hands, route running (being consistent in depth and timing and being explosive out of breaks), and either great speed or great short area burst

TE - hands, blocking, either size or speed

OT - strength, agility, long arms

IOL - strength to anchor, drive blocking, mean demeanor

DT - explosiveness, violent hands, mean demeanor

EDGE - explosiveness, arm length, a primary move and countermove combination

ILB - mental processing speed, aggressiveness in all hits (blockers and ballcarriers), and consistent tackling form

CBs - confidence that never wavers, top end athleticism, balls skills

S - mental processing speed, ball skills, closing burst

K - unwavering confidence of a CB, technique driven, look like you still get bullied by middleschoolers

P - to kick as far as Uncle Rico can throw, able to hold kicks consistently

QB: Decision-making. Pocket awareness/ability to slide in the pocket.

RB: Ball security. Power.

WR: You have to have at least one of the following attributes: High-pointing ability. Run after catch (elusiveness/power). Explosiveness out of breaks (which is actually rare; most great receivers are/were not particularly good route runners).

TE: Either high-point ability or speed.

OT: Feet.

OG: Strength.

C: You can get by here just by being a student of the game and making the calls. To be a great actual blocking center, strength.

DE/3-4 OLB: Strength and quickness.

DT/3-4 DE: Strength and quickness.

ILB: Read and react, tackling. Speed is an asset.

CB: 6'0" or 6'1" height. If you're taller than that, there are going to be problems with movement. If you're shorter than that, you're not going to have a good time unless you have a 40+ inch vertical. Reaction time.

S: Awareness/student of the game. Tackling.

My philosophy on quarterbacks coming out of college:

- Accuracy and leadership must be at least average

- Decision-making / processing speed should be above-average

- Pocket awareness / mobility should be above-average

- Mechanics don't have to be great but good footwork is a big plus

- Arm strength doesn't have to be elite but high or adaptable velocity is a plus
