jrry32
You're not going to beat me to it this time. That's disappointing.
kingseanjohn
I'm disappointed in the hire. There should be quite a bit of defensive player turnover as well.

jrry32
The good news is that you have the DL to handle the scheme. Spags' scheme must have a gifted DL. But I still think it's a totally underwhelming hire. He's an uninspiring leader, and his scheme isn't anything special.

The only DL that we have under contract are Chris Jones, Justin Hamilton, Derrick Nnadi, and I think a practice squad guy. Are we moving our OLB to DE now? I really think Reid wanted someone to be the HC of the defensive side of the ball so he can focus 100% of his time on the offense so he hired an ex head coach who is a defensive "specialist". I'm not super thrilled with the hire, but all we need is our defense to be is average. He is also hyper aggressive which I like with how good our offense is. They are going to score anyway, might as well as aggressive.
RedGold
I would imagine at least one of Ford or Houston is gone. or Ford plays some OLB on early downs, having both on the line kills the run game. This is great news for Breeland and Tanoh though.

I can't imagine going down to fingers in the dirt would be ideal if that's the case
xMISTA314x
@jrry32 Is that you my brutha?! Haven't been in the Rams forum since the move to LA. Good to see you're still active!
blizofoz45
Anybody is an improvement over Sutton. How do you score 51 points against the Rams and LOSE?? That's when Sutton should have been fired no questions asked there's the door.
xMISTA314x
I think this is a solid hire. I think most people are thinking it's underwhelming because of the media buzz surrounding Rex Ryan. I never thought that was a real possibility. Too much personality for a Andy Reid coaching staff IMO. The biggest question is changing from a 3-4 to a 4-3. The Linebacker position will need to go through the biggest overhaul. I don't see Dee Ford or Justin Houston with their hand in the ground. Definitely need to add some speed to the LB corps. I do think this move fits Veach’s draft from last year, Speaks and Dorian O’Daniel should have much more defined roles now, along with Tanoh from the previous regime.
