He would probably be looking at around 80 million in his 6 years. He signed for 100 for 8. He is probably bypassing 40-50 million by doing this, but he is playing with his best friend(who will get a contract soon), and he is getting paid his first two years instead of making the minimum. Yeah, its a discount, but no matter what he got, unless it was ungodly, it would be less than what he is worth WAR wise. I don't think the answer here is necessarily go year to year. Acuna should have been able to beat Eloy Jiminez's deal or sign a smaller extension that maybe limits his arb payouts without the expense of delaying his FA.
