The way they've maneuvered losing Clark/Bennett with the signing of Clowney the way they did was pretty damn solid. Of course, their pass rush is still in shambles even with Reed back (Ansah is even more invisible than Clowney is) so more and more it's looking like they're going to really need to draft/acquire more pass rush next year. The theory around the draft (and I believe this now) is Pete and John were absolutely blindsided by how quickly DL prospects were gobbled up, and decided that there was more value in other positions. Seattle went into the draft with Cassius Marsh, Nate Orchard and Jacob Martin as their top edge guys. They left the draft without taking a single edge (except Collier, who isn't an PR edge). Had to build this DL on the fly, and it shows; compounded by Reeds suspension. I do think Seattle could resign Clowney. He seems to love it in Seattle (teammates, coaching staff, lockerroom). Kam Chancellors dead money comes off the books, and Seattle looks poised to have sizable chunk of cap space. They are realistically only paying Lockett, Wilson, Bobby; while everyone else being paid (McDougald, Britt, KJ, Fluker, Iupati, Dickson, Diggs, J Brown) will be in the last year or years of their contracts.
