There was a public plan in place to replace Whit. They backtracked a bit at the last minute when they realized Ced sucked. But at that point, the team didn't feel committed to him and the contract offered reflected that. The public plan is to keep AJ. They want to pay AJ. From what i read, AJ cut off the contract talks because of the injury (they probably tried to get a bit of a deal because of it). He's healthy(ish?) now, and i still think they'll pay him. sparky151 Posted October 30, 2019 Share Posted October 30, 2019 PFT said a new deal for AJ would start at the $18.2 mil cap number. I think that's a fantasy. He's not in line for a raise. He may get tagged for a year but isn't going to get a multi-year deal averaging that much. He's on the downhill side of his career. 4 years, for 60 mil with half of it payable in per game roster bonuses would be fair for both sides.
