RuskieTitan
Unbelievable. Wagner does it all.
RuskieTitan
Gg man. You are an offensive juggernaut behind Herbert. Nice pick on the first time, but Wagner catching the tipped ball? Can't do anything vs that, nor his forced fumble. Jinxed myself earlier. But there's no slowing down your offense, think you converted 2 or 3 4th downs too. HoboRocket
The NewNew 98.7 FM: NewNew Arizona's Sports Station Mixed Start for Kards, Can Kliff Kingsbury Keep on Kourse? Hey guys, it's Arizona Cardinals insider Mike Jurecki, covering THE Arizona Cardinals, and specifically, their tough start to the season. The Cardinals are currently 1-2 after the first three weeks, and each game has been a challenge for this newly-assembled squad. QB MVPJ Walker struggled mightily in the season-opener against the Detroit Lions, the current betting favorites to win the NFC. He routinely missed downfield throws that Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator Kliff Kingsbury schemed wide-open for him. Antonio Brown, one half of a studly WR tandem stolen from the 2017-18 Pittsburgh Steelers, finished with one reception for three yards. It was a ROUGH week for the offense. The defense, meanwhile, played some solid football despite the blowout, creating splash plays behind the line and multiple turnovers, including scoring on a long fumble recovery for a touchdown. However, Walker struggled so badly in the Week 1 blowout loss that it prompted owner - and Greatest Wide Receiver of All-Time - Nelson Spruce to look elsewhere at the QB position for the time being. He quickly got a deal in place to acquire young journeyman Teddy Bridgewater to fill-in at QB, sending 3-tech defensive tackle Michael Bennett and a 2nd-rounder as compensation. Spruce still believes that PJ Walker has a future in the Cardinals' QB room, stating: You know, maybe the timing isn't right with PJ. This is a guy that is still only in his second season, and he's played in the XFL as his only real pro experience. I love his athletic profile, his attitude, and his history as someone who's fought through adversity. He's only 23. His talent is very real, and he'll be on this team until I say otherwise. Teddy will be given a shot, and we feel that he's in the process of cementing his status as the starter this year. We really like all three of our QBs, Josh is a great guy, too, another one with an outstanding athletic profile and leadership. Bridgewater, by the way, battled hard in weeks 2 and 3. In week 2, he took the team to overtime and threw for well-over 400 yards in what ultimately ended up being a heartbreaking loss. In week 3, he led the team to a narrow victory, the first one of the season. One of the few bright spots for this team has been the running back room. While the running game itself hasn't been great with the OL regularly getting beaten, the RBs themselves have been good at evading tackles, generating yards after contact, and contributing in the passing game as both receivers and blockers. JuJu Smith-Schuster has also been a stud, contributing some clutch football in a massive role for the passing game. Antonio Gandy-Golden has also been very impressive as the second slot WR. SS Marcus Gilchrist received the game ball for the Cardinals' Week 3 win after contributing a stellar 17 tackles. There have been signs of life recently for this Cardinals team, but they still have a losing record. It is now up to head coach Kliff Kingsbury to keep the ship steady as they head into the thick of the NFL season. This is Mike Jurecki, and you have been listening to 98.7 FM: NewNew Arizona's sports station.
