Deadpulse
During the 1940s and below poll, I will have another poll underneath to decide the next genre we go through. That work for everyone?
MacReady
Nosferatu, Haxan, The Phantom Carriage and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari are the only movies that need to be nominated for 1940 and earlier. If one of them doesn't win this doesn't even matter.
Daniel
The Exorcist is so dang iconic, it's hard not to vote for it. Jaws is in consideration, but I don't consider it horror, though I might be more nitpicky about these genres than is necessary. Went with Alien though. Great movie, iconic, definitely horror IMO, and the way the chestburster scene was shot is such a cool story.

MacReady
Just now, Malfatron said: Freaks Freaks was the 1930's version of The Human Centipede or Hostel. It wasn't even Browning's best movie of the decade. Dracula was better. So was The Unknown. It was basically Browning's The Unknown with shock value, but The Unknown was better than Freaks. Daniel
The thing that most stuck with me from Freaks was how not swole the supposed strongman was.

Body building has come a long way since 1932 you know.

Guess according to this it was later moved from La Frontera to Kingsland in 1998 and yes turned into a hotel/restaurant. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Chainsaw_House Oddly enough this one might be a cooler house from the outside that was later used in the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The 2006 version was not awful and R. Lee Ermey was pretty decent but overall was nothing compared to the original.
