Ty21
Gonna give it the old college try. Doing an actual non sarcastic playthrough. I will be doing the death penalty challenge where you erase the entire roster and replace them with walk ons. 1 year ban on recruiting. Heisman difficulty all around, 6 min quarters. Speed threshold at 20. NCAA 14. Notre Dame is in the ACC, Navy and Army added to PAC-12 to hopefully make them not OP. I’m using 2018 rosters I think. Neumatic
You need to change Army and Navy’s offense to something besides the Triple option if you really want to stop them from becoming power houses.
Ty21
After winning the Allstate Sugar Bowl and ending the season ranked #2 in the Nation, things were looking good for the future of the Fighting Irish. That is, until it was made apparent there was an enormous scandal involving the majority of the roster. A vast majority of the roster was caught committing academic fraud and the boosters were found guilty of bribing players to play at Notre Dame. As a result, the NCAA reigned hell upon them, banning the Irish from a bowl game for two years, banning them from recruiting any players higher than 1* for two years, and banning any current player from playing college football again. Somehow, by the grace of god, Brian Kelly was the sole remaining component of the 2018 Fighting Irish team. Quickly enough, the roster filled with walk-ons, as the Irish were still allowed to compete. We are experiencing a severe hardship right now but we will come out better and more prepared by powering through now than if we hand our chips in and do nothing. It might be ugly for the time being but we will come out on top.” -Brian Kelly

Through two games, the Irish have given up 178 and have yet to score their first touchdown. Despite the bad, it seemed as though Luke Jones was starting to hit his stride in the passing game, improving his game one numbers from just 90 yards to 283. It was apparent from the get-go the Irish wouldn’t stand much of a chance against Georgia Tech’s option offense as defending the option means you need speed, play recognition, and football IQ, none of which this team of walk ons can offer. Alex Payne is 11th in receiving yards with 268. Things looked considerably more positive in Notre Dame’s big loss to Maryland today as they scored 24 points. The Irish have abandoned the run after getting no traction from the big guys up front and the transition to total passing appears to be working. Luke Jones looked Tommy Rees-esque against Maryland, putting up nearly 400 yards and 4 interceptions. Freshman Alex Payne is looking to continue Notre Dame’s streak of good tight ends by putting up another 100+ yard receiving game. What he lacks in speed he makes up for by having the most consistent hands on the roster. Edited May 10, 2020 by Tyty

That is, until you look deeper and see how many drive killing drops the Irish had. WR Will Blanco had 5 drops, WR Jon Dean had 4, TE Alex Payne had 7, and WR Tyler Dunbar had 1. Getting wins becomes more complicated when receivers can’t consistently catch the ball. On the other side of the ball, the defense did a good job by getting its first interception on the season and two sacks. Other teams offenses are still having their way, breaking tackles left and right but it’s starting to slow down a bit. “Coach, it seems your strategy lately has been mostly passing.” -reporter ”I feel I have a very talented group of walk ons, guys that have been put to the test despite lacking elite ability or experience. That said, we lack the speed required to keep up with teams. We have adjusted our offense to utilizing our best opportunities: quick hitters on slants, hitches, drags, and other short routes. On defense, we are shoring up our players in certain spots to ensure no big plays can happen for the other team. It’s a work in progress.” -Brian Kelly Luke Jones is #1 in pass yards with 1222 Alex Payne is 21st in receiving yards with
