the lone star
I wanted to take a look at these two guys because they both played in the ABA, but also did well in the NBA. Dr. J won 4 MVP awards total, 3 in the ABA and 1 in the NBA. Moses won 3 total, all in the NBA. So where do you rank them each all-time among other GOATs? seminoles1
Dr. J is towards the bottom of the top 10 perimeter players of all-time. I don't see any argument over MJ, LeBron, Bird, Durant, or Kobe among pure wings. Throw in Magic, Curry, and Oscar for guards that I have as easy choices over him. Jerry and Dr. J round out the top 10...for now. Moses is so confusing to me. It seems like he always gets underrated, but it's hard to put him any higher among big men on the all-time list than I have him (#7) and most people tend to put him there as well. -Kareem is the clear #1 and I'm not sure how much debate there is to that -Wilt and Russell deserve their own tier because of what they did for the sport of basketball. I'd probably pick all 4 of the next players I mention (and maybe even a couple more) in terms of just basketball, but they get a legacy bump -Moses is in the next tier with Duncan, Shaq, and Hakeem...but it's hard to argue him over any of the

the lone star
I might have him higher than Kobe tbh, but that's also kinda tough. Dr. J played in the ABA, which makes it a very difficult comparison, which is only compounded by the different rules, tech, equipment, medicine, nutrition, training, coaching, etc.. DirtyDez
Moses outplayed Kareem twice in the playoffs including the 83’ finals in which he won regular season MVP and Finals MVP. He could’ve been a pantheon guy had he been more focused on finishing instead of fishing for offensive rbs. Dr J was the first wow athlete. He could fly but also had a great first step and could throw down hard.
Mox
They are both top 20ish imo. These are the guys I'd definitely take over both: MJ, Bron, Kareem, Russell, Duncan, Magic, Bird, Wilt, Shaq, Hakeem, Oscar, West, and Kobe. I think they are in the next group with D-Rob, Curry, KG, Dirk, Mailman, Barkley, etc.

TitanSlim
I’d rank both between 10-20 all time. I think Moses Malone may be the most underrated All Time great, if that makes sense.
resilient part 2
Moses was allowed to get physical with Kareem like no other Center, but outside of that matchup thought he was nothing special on defense.. Also seemed like a blackhole on offense..
resilient part 2
Dr J was just about all by himself as a sky riser back then. But just like I say about Bill Russell and some of the other greats way back then. How well would his game translate today? top 10 for historical impact to the game, but not top 20 vs actually game abilities IMO.
