I was okay with his contract, and he's proving that he's worth every penny. He's a no drama, high impact player. Very rare.

In hindsight, the Bears/Saints is a funny matchup because we're the offensive version of the Bears team. Prettttttty good on offense, kinda very bad/middling on defense, and we squeek out really cheeky wins in unconvincing fashion. That's three in a row by 3-points, and Joey Slye was *just* short of making it 3 OT games in a row, too. Securing these Ws is good, they'll come into play down the stretch for sure but this is the type of team that's going to need a lot of variance to go their way to take down superior teams in the playoffs. Thing is, we can't exactly bail on our "all-in" plan halfway through the season so we have to commit to trying to win a superbowl this year.

Oh and once again, love Payton's aggressiveness on 4th down. Didn't convert the one at midfield but Payton makes those calls fearlessly and that's a good thing. And forget about Taysom Hill, special teams is the Saints secret weapon. Between Lutz, Moorestead, and Deonte Harris this team swings just a couple extra points per game it feels like through all facets of special teams. Imagine Brees checking down to Latavius Murray short of the sticks in the redzone if we had kicking woes like the Titans. All of us would be losing our minds even more than we already do 😅
