Madmike90
Of the top 25 player in the NFL last season for receiving yards 15 of the 25 weren’t 1st round picks… 4 of the 6 All-Pro interior offensive linemen from last year weren’t 1st round picks…2 were 5th round picks…1 was a 6th round pick. Nor does saying you know to the exact level that 48 rookie offensive linemen played too... My point is if these guys were below league average on what were some really good teams they wouldn't have been playing as much as they did. Moving the goal posts. They weren’t rookies. We are talking about in 2022. Relying on rookies is a huge risk. Although we are well past the point where any free agent signed should stop us from drafting more OL high.

Talking about rookies Jason Kelce & Corey Linsely started as rookies and are now All Pros... Again relying on rookies isn't a huge risk as teams like KC proved last season...it's an outdated view point and the numbers simply don't back it up. WindyCity
In the last 5 drafts 18% of non 1st round rookie WRs cleared 550 yards as rookies. Many who didn’t went on to be excellent players. But relying on rookies is a risk. Most don’t play, because they can’t beat out veterans, or they did not produce while playing.

One outlier in KC does not prove a point. The issue is not what the player becomes, it is what they are week 19; year 1. Week 1 of year 1, most rookie OLmen are not ready to play. Joe Burrows, Tee Higgins & Logan Wilson... The list goes on and on dude.

The snap count of rookies is what I am referring too...not some made up benchmark of 550 yards.

The list goes on and on dude. It really doesn’t. Most teams struggle to find 2 immediate week 1 contributors outside of round 1 in a draft. Even more so when one of them is an OLmen. Look at last years draft of OLmen outside of round 1 and tell me you are comfortable wading into that and finding a day 1 starting RG. Outside of Humphries Trey Smith and Dickerson it isn’t strong. Meyers was up and down.
WindyCity
Guys who played at an average starter level like Borom, Newman should be on the list as well.
