LAOJoe
That should be recorded as a drop for Edmunds. Eli Apple got embarrassed by him of all people. Edited September 30, 2022 by LAOJoe

He let him run open to the corner and he was trailing him the whole time. Eli has a job because he flashes good plays but we all know that a bad play far outweighs a good play. He's Cary Williams with less positive huge plays. Hated him on the Eagles. He had big flashes but got burned and missed tackles multiple times a game. Net negative.

I’m not one for sticking up for Eli Apple, but pretty sure the Edmonds play was Mike Hilton

Very shocked. Normally doesn't mess up. He rarely gets beat even a quarter that badly. If he isn't the best slot corner he's right up there. Maybe he stumbled but that's part of getting beat. They showed Apple and someone mentioned him after the play but cameraman might have had the wrong guy.
LAOJoe
I checked the replay. He let him get by on purpose and then stumbled turning around to close the gap when the throw was coming.

He didn't want Edmonds to get in front of him. He stumbled turning around so big whoops. Considering it was Edmonds he should have trusted there wouldn't be separation had he stayed on him the whole time.
LAOJoe
Also seemed he was playing zone as he was anticipating a possible throw at the goalline to the other receiver and was getting ready to jump it.
