Honest question. For as big of a name that Jim Harbaugh is why is he consistently losing out on these top 5 & 4 star rated high school recruits to the likes of Ohio State, Bama, Georgia, etc.

You think by now he would have more pull to be able to lure some of these prospects...so what gives ?

Maybe just maybe he doesn't have as great of a reputation as some of us would like to believe?

Because there is a level of drunk Uncle cringe with Harbaugh that Im assuming a lot of top prospects see right through.

Also, OSU historically has been the alpha dog in the Big10 and have a history of being a pipeline to the NFL--so if top recruits dont want to go to a SEC school, they go to OSU.

Jim Harbaugh is returning to Michigan next season but his offensive coordinator reportedly won’t be. According to ESPN and The Athletic, Wolverines offensive coordinator Josh Gattis is leaving Ann Arbor for the same job at Miami. Gattis spent the past three seasons as Michigan’s OC, winning the Broyles Award in 2021 as the Wolverines won the Big Ten and reached the College Football Playoff for the first time. The Broyles Award is annually given to the nation’s top assistant coach.

While Gattis leaves Ann Arbor for Miami, Harbaugh will be tasked with replacing both of his coordinators. Mike Macdonald, UM’s defensive coordinator last season, is returning to the Baltimore Ravens to be their defensive coordinator. Before his lone season at Michigan, Macdonald spent seven seasons as an assistant with the Ravens.
