I think Calcaterra is going to tumble pretty far. But if we miss out on the top 7 or so TEs, he’s well worth a gamble with one of our 5th round picks. Tape is on par with the other top TEs in this draft, and has real NFL starting potential, as long as he can avoid more concussion issues.

Up to 28 visitors confirmed.

Late round guys are almost all superb athletes, many of whom did not get a combine invite. Could be laying the groundwork for some priority UDFAs.

So the short list for pick 24 is Zion Johnson, Kenyon Green, Charles Cross, Drake London, Chris Olave, and Treylon Burks.

Good chance one of these guys is a Cowboy next month. If the board is wiped out backup picks look like Jordan Davis, Devin Lloyd, and Bernhard Raimann.

Jordan Davis an interesting one. Hard to see how he could be viewed as a backup option, when he’s likely not even going to be available. I don’t think it’s likely Davis becomes a Cowboy.

But not every 30 visit is someone that ends up as a top target. Sometimes they just want to know more, to confirm or dispel their original eval.

I sure hope Lloyd and Raimann are viewed as backup options. Sign me up for the other 6.

I agree Davis is a stud. I just think they have their heart set on OG/WR in round 1 unless the board is pretty wiped.

Let’s say Cross, Green, Zion, London, and Burks are all somehow gone. Only ones left are Olave, Davis, Lloyd, and Raimann. I could see Davis getting picked there. But I really don’t think they would take a nose tackle over those 5.

Dallas has always liked the young guys in rd 1. With that I feel pretty confident we can exclude Raimann from rd 1 discussion.

Formal interview at combine, attended his pro day, and now a top-30 visit.

Reminds me a little of Taco and Frederick. Those guys were basically discounted as options by the fan base, despite all the tea leaves. I hope we don’t draft him, but I think he’s a more realistic option than we admit.

How would you feel if Raimann was the 2nd round option?

Fine, I guess. Not thrilled.

Raimann has a long development road, but is already 25. There are legit day 1 starters to be had at #56, Raimann isn’t one. He is this year’s Spencer Brown, but 2 years older as a prospect. I’d draft him in a similar 3rd round range 🤷🏻‍♂️

On Drake London - I’m lower on him than the consensus. He’s my WR5. I’m very confident he’ll be a good receiver, I just don’t have much hope he can be a great one. I think he’s a bit limited in his NFL utility to be mostly a contested catch guy and good red zone target. I don’t think he’s a down-after-down #1 receiver. I don’t think he’s very versatile. But if you take him and commit to CeeDee having a really robust role out of the slot, then that could be a positive for our offense. Still, he would only sit above Raimann and Lloyd on this list for me:
