aceinthehouse
I don't care what it takes! He's exactly what this team needs. Get it ✅ done! Can you imagine having Terry McLaurin, Justin Jefferson, Curtis Samuels, Dyami Brown & Cam Sims? Now, how do you get him? Minnesota has the #12 pick in the draft. Right behind us @#11. Your offer them a deal, they can't refuse. #11 pick, Deron Payne & Antonio Gibson. for WR Justin Jefferson Why does this work? All players involved are on rookie deals. Both teams should be able to absorb the contracts fairly easily. It gives Minnesota a player to beef up their D-line. Immediate starter in Payne. It also gives Minnesota a starting caliber RB who can team up with Dalvin Cook. Both could play at the same time as Gibson is a converted WR. Minnesota would have the #11 & 12 pick in the draft to target any player of their choice including WR. Washington gets a true #1-#2 combo of WR's for Carson Wentz. (With McLaurin) we extend McLaurin Immediately.... Do the same for Jefferson next season... That is how the Commanders become immediate contenders for this yr & going forward, imo. lavar703
Part of the issue is the other team has to be willing to trade the other player....

e16bball
For the record, I would do the trade you proposed. I just want you to know that.

Gibson is just 1 of only 7 rbs over 1000 yds last year. He's as good as Dalvin Cook is at RB, imo. If not better Payne is a beast inside. We just can't afford paying him, Johnathon Allen, Sweat & Young for our D-line. Edited March 15, 2022 by aceinthehouse

aceinthehouse
If I'm Minnesota & thinking from their perspective? I solidify my D-line with Payne. I get a RB in Gibson that can either spell Cook, or replace him considering what Cook is making cap wise. I get Washington's #11 pick, giving me back-to-back picks in the 1st Rd. They can sign Jarvis Landry in FA who was just cut by the browns. Or someone else... And/or target a WR with the #11 or 12th pick. Washington gets scary dangerous with McLaurin & Jefferson as their 1/2 punch. With Samuels, Dyami Brown & can Simms to help spread the field. Obviously, we would need to find a RB because Patterson may or may not be ready. McKissic would probably need to be a must resign as well. LoganF89
Ace I always love your enthusiasm but why in the heck would Minny trade a top 5 WR that’s on a rookie contract? you talk about Payne going to cost a ton but you do know when Jefferson is up for a contract he will probably be the top paid WR in the league which would be way more than Payne. if I’m Minny I laugh at this. I honestly think a team would give up 2 first right now for Jefferson and Minny still prob wouldn’t do it

We have nothing behind him. Why not just sign Landry and keep the 1st rounder, Payne, and Gibson?

Well, because I really want Justin Jefferson #1. Lol And because Gibson has fumbled at inopportune times & I'd prefer to not cringe & bite my nails when he's carrying the ball. As far as talent wise? He's as every bit as good as Cook is, imo.

aceinthehouse
No player is impossible to get. Did you know that the Eagles were in the process of trading for WR Calvin Ridley, just before his 1-yr suspension was handed down. Now how were they going to land him? Fletcher Cox? Somebody else? They have 3-1st Rd picks so who knows...
