bigben07MVP
I’m liking the vibes of this game so far. The team is playing hard.

I was trying to find some light at the end of the tunnel. It is far too soon and unfair to put any of those three in that class. But I am making a prediction that the team will build and add to those three players. Pickett, Harris and Pickens are nowhere remotely close to Ben, Bell in Brown and are only similar in the sense that they are a QB, RB and WR trio. I know you probably aren't claiming they are just as good, but that's why I don't understand the comparison, because they aren't similar as individual players or a group, and they haven't even begun to sniff those three. I agree in that they don't have enough skin in the game. However, you have three top picks at the key skill positions that the team will build around/off of. They are closer to Bubby Brister, Tim Worley and Louis Lipps than the Killer Bs. I would say that if I am grossly over-stating talent, you are grossly understating their talent with all due respect to Louis Lipps. Pickett is a much better prospect than Bubby was and while Tim was a #1 Top six pick, he's not Najee. I think Pickens will be the new sheriff at WR and Pickett's top receiver going forward. They are not and may or may not ever be HOF level like Ben and AB from numbers (Bell could have been had he stayed). 8 hours ago, 43M said: I do think (or at least HOPE) that Pickett and Pickens can be a great duo. I disagree about Najee though. I do think he can be effective and MAYBE shed the bust label, but he will never be anything close to Bell. He is almost the exact opposite of Bell in terms of skills. Sadly, Najee is on a similar career path as Eddie Lacy. I can see both, but I am more optimistic about Najee. I think he has a good head on his shoulders and with some beef up front, we will see some good things from him. If nothing else, hopefully it serves as a further warning to our front office to never again draft a RB in rd 1, and pretty much never draft Bama backs. I still have no problem with drafting Najee. If the Center had good knees I think he would have and should have been the pick.

I am never a fan of 1st rd RBs unless they are special AND you have a good OL. Neither of those were the case, and this is the result.
