Pats Trade Jonnu Smith to Falcons

Nice move for a 7th, provided his contract is being reworked. Familiarity with Smith who knows how to use him. Allows for some flexibility in terms of two TE sets which Smith likes to run. QB aside, upgrade the OL and find a reliable #2 WR and this offense is moving in the right direction.

Didn't have that issue with Matt Ryan under center. Just MArcus Mariota. Wonder what the problem really was. Smith? or MAriota.

Does he though..?

Career high 48 catches, lol. I always thought Jonnu was “held back” production wise in Tennessee. He didn’t have super natural WR hands but given his athleticism/YAC ability I thought he was destined to be more productive in other places.

With as much as Pitts lines up at WR Jonnu will gets tons of chances at TE to make some plays as well.  Honestly about 75% of Pitts plays were at the WR spots not TE so if anything jonnu is probably our legit main guy at TE at this point lol.  But still Pitts and Jonnu at 2 TE sets are always going to be fun as well.  This gives the Falcons a good combination of people who can do quite a few things and to give defenses multiple things to look at.
