Rodgers wasn't taking ANY pay cut ... period.  He wanted to be top paid dog throughout his entire career in GB and in no way, shape or manner would he take a pay cut.  Matter of fact, him taking that pay cut with the Jets was the biggest piss me off of Rodgers ever.  What a poke in the eye for the Packers.  If you think that .. you are goofier than I imagined.

probably would have been vilified. But now looking back in perfect 20-20 hindsight it would have been better to trade him.

A GM’s job is to do what’s best for the team, not play PR or worry about a public-opinion popularity contest.

& there were some at the time that were admitting the team had peaked & weren’t going to reach SB & that it would be time to sell & juice the rebuild.

He wouldn't take a paycut because of Gute. If Gute would have never lied to him about taking Jordan Love the whole thing would be a non issue. Rodgers wanted to retire a Packer but Gute wasn't having it. He thought he had the secret formula to developing QBs and he was wrong.

We drove the greatest player in franchise history out of town to play a project QB who sucked at Utah State. The guys is putting up basically the same numbers he did his senior year and has the same exact issues he did in college but don't worry, maybe in year 6 he will be league average.

12 teams have never won a Super Bowl. I don't know how old you are but atleast you got to see your team win two. Ask Buffalo fans what they would do just to win one.

36. But plenty of bad to average QB have won SB and not every HOF QB has won multiple.

The days of game manager QBs winning it all are basically over. Is it possible? Sure, but look at all the teams who have had sustained success over the last few years. The Chiefs were a good team with Alex Smith, they became a dynasty after they drafted Mahomes. With the way rookie contracts are these days you have a better chance drafting a QB every 3 years until you hit then you do building up the perfect roster and hoping the QB you have doesn't screw it up.

That's not proof of a lie by Gute.

Rodgers would have never signed that contract the year before if he knew he was gonna be a lame duck QB and Gute admitted himself he didn't give Rodgers any heads up about the pick. At the very least you have to admit that shows a lack of respect.
