All banter aside, I think Lamar had one of the most impressive seasons out of all players in S27. He, somehow, managed to have the fewest total potential turnovers per game (0.5625, compared to Mahomes with 0.8) and led the league in total yards gained (4,648, compared to Mahomes with 3,776). You gained the most yards and risked the fewest turnovers? Take the MVP, madlad.

Quarterback:
Patrick Mahomes [16 GS]: 309/487 (63.45%, 104.11 Rating) for 3,845 yards, 35 touchdowns, 9 interceptions. 50 carries for 132 yards (2.64 YPC, 10 LNG), 0 touchdowns, 4 fumbles.

... woah. My Nacho doc right now still has Rio at 15 games played and every other team at 16 games played. That's insane.

Editing the point for accuracy:

What it shows right now:

Patrick Mahomes [15 GS]: 293/462 (63.42%, 102.88 Rating) for 3,656 yards, 32 touchdowns, 9 interceptions. 43 carries for 120 yards (2.79 YPC, 10 LNG), 0 touchdowns, 3 fumbles.

Did you still have the page open from shortly after posting Week 16? If not, your browser may have it cached or something -  I somehow missed updating Rio de Janeiro's stats initially but quickly corrected it

Yep, exactly. Fix made, thanks!

Feeling any better?

You take yards, I'll take points.

Quarterback:

Lamar Jackson [16 GS]: 314/501 (62.67%, 99.31 Rating) for 3,950 yards, 27 touchdowns, 7 interceptions. 94 carries for 698 yards (7.43 YPC, 63 LNG), 4 touchdowns, 2 fumbles.

Better completion %, better passer rating, 105 fewer yards passing, 8 more touchdowns thrown, 2 more interceptions. I guess it's Mahomes fault for having so many games won that his kneeldowns hindered his rushing stats...

That's straight up comparison. Swap the tackles for both teams and the disparity gets wider.

Now, now... don't omit the rest of it: Lamar had four (more) rushing TDs, gained 671 more total yards, threw two fewer interceptions (despite having more pass attempts) and had two fewer fumbles. Objectively speaking, he had the better season.

(I don't have anyone of significance in the All-Star Bowl, so don't pretend that I stand to gain anything in this.)
