What Super Bowl winner would you say had the easiest playoff path?

Sure they faced the Cowboys but that was Switzer, not Johnson. And let's be real; the Cowboys effectively handed them the game by digging themselves into a hole so early.

As for their other opponents, the Bears were a team without a true star. And the Chargers are probably the worst team to appear in a Super Bowl. They got there primarily on Miami and Pittsburgh s***ing the bed.

 

I wouldn’t say the 1994 were the worst team to play in a Super Bowl. The 79 rams and 2008 Cardinals were worse

The 1979 Rams were a lot better than the 1994 Chargers.

To start, the Rams had five Pro Bowlers and two All-Pros, and SD only had three Pro Bowlers and one All-Pro (Seau).

Also, the Rams had a much deeper team at most positions, and Humphries really wasn't much better (if at all) than Ferragamo.

The 79 Rams got to the SB in spite of adversity (and a lot of injuries). That may have been their best team of that 1973-80 era, even though the record doesn't show it.

In contrast, the 1994 Chargers are one of (if not the) flukiest and most un-deserving SB participant ever (up there with 01 and 03 NE, 11 NYG, and these Chief teams).

If "easiest" is defined as a team never facing a realistic challenger in their SB run, it's the 85 Bears. 

They breezed through their two NFC playoff games vs the 10-6 Giants (#4 seed) and 11-5 Rams (#2 seed) by a combined score of 45-0.  Then they crushed the 11-5 Patriots (#5 seed) in the SB by a score of 46-10.  It was equal parts all-time dominant team, plus a relatively easy path through the playoffs and SB.  I actually remember feeling bad for the Patriots QB's (Eason/Grogan) in the SB.  They never had a chance, and they seemed to know it.
