jleisher
This should make some of you very happy. No, not the mock, but my last 2024 mock. Used Fanspeak.com GM simulator for trades and last few free agent signings. Used NFL Draft Buzz for scouting reports and PFF.com for PFF scores and player stats. Brian Gutekunst is all smiles. Before the draft, Gutes shores up the OL with a free agent signing. Packers are sitting at a cap space of $21,405,357. Dalton Risner T/G Minnesota 2yrs. $8m. Offers veteran OL depth and could start at RG. 2024 Packers Mock draft: #16. Seattle's on the clock. Packers and Seahawks have worked on deals together in the past, so let's continue the trend. vegas492
You gave me hope with your first pick. While I don't agree with the trade up, I will agree that I'll bet we've talked to them about doing a deal like that. And? You took a great kid there. Then came the non-sense. You trade the contract and the player goes with it. Clark doesn't have many years left on his contract, so the Bengals gave up that pick for the right to pay Clark a ton of money....if he agrees to it. Yeah, no. It really doesn't work that way. So, then I noped out of the rest of the draft. This one, though, just because of the rational thought in the first pick does not deserve a crappy picture to describe it.

vegas492
15 hours ago, jleisher said: I believe Clark is a free agent next year. That's why I dealt him. You know that is an issue, right? His impending free agency? You trade the contract, the player goes with it. So they gave up that pick for one year of Clark. It is up to Clark whether or not he re-signs, not the Bengals. Maybe they could franchise him, but then you need to look at their roster and see who else is up at the end of this year that could take that tag instead. The logic behind getting that pick for one year of Clark is why that trade is simply not feasible. My bet is that Clark on that deal is worth a 3rd rounder. And that is what they would likely get if Clark leaves after one year via a comp pick. Then you have to consider if a 3rd rounder is worth it to give up a player like Clark from the GB roster. One can probably argue both sides of that one.
